- You try to throw an acid grenade which may eat away the walls (also damaging you)
- As a last resort, you can bind the "noclip up" and "noclip down" commands to force yourself up or down a level (see https://steamcommunity.com/app/333640/discussions/0/541906982115914938/)
im playing a jackknife gunner, my only melee is a carbide dagger
Early on you can always get a guaranteed Pickax from the Miner's remains in the Waterlogged tunnel that goes from the bottom floor of Red Rock to Joppa. It only weights 1lbs and is effective at attacking walls that you need mine through.
Just as the un-tough will die to turret fire, the weak will languish in pits!
i havent made it to the bottom of redrock yet, i should probably go back, i was looking for other settlements to buy stuff from, i have 600 water and nothng to spend it on, ran out of ammo and the bird dude in joppa hasnt restocked in forever, no arrows or bullets, though he seems to get a steady supply of shotgun shells but i dont have a shotty.
as for the hole i ended up having to do the noclip to get out, but i would rather not do it again because even with save enabled that just feels wrong to use.
The main reason i was there was because i was far from home and hunting for food lol random encountered a legendary salamander lair, fell in hole, so i mean, i might of been able to dig around but i would of starved to death long before i got anywhere.
You are weak because you chose the path of avoidance! You chose agility!
Try to dodge your way past those walls!
If you have not invested every starting and every level-up point in strength, plus double muscles, you are weak! WEAK!
Hear the gospel of Strength and Toughness! Be tough! Take hits! Be strong! Break ribs! Break walls, for that matter!
i actually chose enhanced agility too. lol No! it is you who are the weak.
High stength builds can be pretty great, especially when you need to penetrate thick armor (or walls). I made a double-muscle percussionist, and he really did do a lot of damage. Probably would have been even better with axes, or a 2H axe or something.
The problem he had was closing distance, because he was so slow. Ranged enemies were a real problem. For that reason I hardly ever go for high Str, but there is probably a better middle ground somewhere.
I do really enjoy a burrowing claw build, however. I sometimes use one of those to go straight down, and just ignore the entire overworld story. Being able to dig through any wall (or floor) is really great and super useful.
My Str builds usually run into trouble when they get into goatfolk territory and start running into sowers or slugsnouts. Without speed (or other options like teleport or Agi for a ranged weapon) the ranged enemies always kill my Str characters.
I am in favor of lopsided builds -- they tend to be more characterful and fun in this game. Max possible Ego, or max Agi, or max Str. There should still be enough points left over to get 18 or 20 in a couple of backup stats, and then just live without the other stuff.
Instead of trying to make a generalist (and it does not sound like you are), just plan on dieing and trying something different.
But back to your original topic -- if you think the 1x1 hole you fell into was due to some sort of zone generation error, you might try reporting it in the bug forum, and sending in a save.
You can also wish for "rebuild" to try to regenerate a zone:
