Is that new? I always thought you needed to use Dominate for that. Or is that only skill points/ability points?

I think you need dominate to have them equip specific things, elsewise they seem to either choose what's "best" in their inventory or just whatever they feel like.

Wait, do they have a full inventory? I thought they'd just use 1-item and whatever's best at that. (When you 'Look' over them it usually reps one item.)

Nah, all creatures have an inventory, though generally it's empty.

It's relatively new, it was a few updates ago. Dominate is still needd for skill points and advanced inventory manipulation.
