Playing the daily, and I have the detriment of shooting electricity randomly (sidenote, I have yet to understand how this is a detriment since it doesnt appear to hurt me).

What does the [EMP] mean that is showing up on a lot of my battle axes and such?

It stands for "electromagnetic pulse" and is useful agaisnt electronically based enemies.

Thank you. Did I somehow imbue those items because I was electrified? Just seemed wayy too common to be random.

It just means that the weapon or device is currently affected by EMP and would be unusable if it is electronic. Unfortunately it shows the EMP status on a lot of items that are unaffected by that status, like normal metal blades and so on.
