Defining what you mean by "eroge" and "visual novel" would probably help

What he's referring to is a game that's focused solely on eroticism that has the erotic parts stripped out, leaving a shell of a game that is unenjoyable.

There aren't actually many games that fit that description, though. Any game that is published on steam will usually have story as its main focus, even if it originally had erotic content. Never dismiss a game just because it has had its erotic content stripped down!

Steam version is just storyline. I don't know what exactly has and has not been cut out from this version, apart from the sexual scenes of course, since I already own the retail version.

"Kinetic Novel" will probably describe this best.

Both the all-age version (which is what Steam has) and the 18+ version are kinetic novels.

You won't miss anything but 2 censored CG and 3 sex scenes cut out. The story is the exact same.

So what you are actually asking is is this a Nukige (A game focused on the porn aspect above all else)?
Because calling it just another eroge means nothing at all, Kanon or Air are just another Eroge. Grisaia is just another Eroge.

This game is a short, slice-of-life kinetic novel (no choices). The story is just a light cute little thing, but if you enjoy slice-of-life type stuff, entirely justifies buying the non-adult version. THe game doesnt pretend the adult content never happens in this version, it just chooses to not divulge it 8v.
Of course you do miss out on the animated sex scenes of the adult version, which contribute quite alot to the total amount of CG in the game.

depends on if you have the steam verion or the 18+ version(which at certain parts is full blown hentai)
Considering this is Steam, you won't get any hentai content, but some very borderline ecchi scenes will be there.
