What about centaurs and satyrs?
Centaurs and Satyrs lean closer to the "monster girl" or mamono archetype, which is still primarily human, especially in the face and head, with greater animal attributes, like a goat's legs, or a snake's lower body.
Furries are, simply put, bipedal animals.
Where something is on the kemonomimi vs. furry scale is dependent on how human their features are.
Someone like, say, Ahri from LoL is very much kemonomimi; only non-human attributes she has are ears, tails, and eyes.
