The 18+ Patch Files
I am aware that this game has a few sexual content scenes, so I decided to check the game's file in Steamapps via my Local Disk (C:), and found that it does contain adult content as it goes under two labels; "patch.xp3" and "patch.xp3.sig" which can be seen in its demo folder even though I already purchased the game from Steam.

So, I am just asking if this information is correct?

No, that is not correct. Those files are for an update unrelated to adult content.

In the first place, selling such content through Steam is against its rules. If you want it, there are two ways to get it:

1. Buy the 18+ patch, which is available through Denpasoft and nekoworks.booth.pm, and apply it to your Steam version. The price is set so that you end up paying the same total as if you'd only bought the full version. The most recent updates may be causing problems with the patch. I'm not sure if it's all worked out now. Some people have said you need to delete "patch2.xp3" and "patch2.xp3.sig" to get it to work. I don't know for sure, since I don't use a patched Steam version.

2. Say to heck with Steam and buy the full version of Nekopara, also available from said sites, as well as dlsite. This is my preference, since there are no problems arising from attempts to keep 18+ content off of Steam Community interfering with patches, among other reasons. You can use the "Add Non-Steam Game" button to still get the convenience of launching from Steam, if that's important to you. Also, if you bought the Steam version less than 14 days ago and played for less than 2 hours, there is no problem getting a refund.

Oh, okay! Does that mean I have to but the same game again even if its on another site? P.S.Although I bought the game a while ago, I have not yet installed it as I have planned to play the demo version of the game first before I start on playing its final version. Would that also count?

Either get the patch for Steam version, or get a refund and buy the full version. Either way, you should be paying the same total amount, give or take a few cents, and also ignoring a possible sale.

I'm quite sure the 14 days starts from when you buy it, whether you install it right away or not. The 2 hours is total play time, meaning you might play for 2 hours straight, or play 12 times for 10 minutes each. They do explicitly say you get some leeway if you go over, but don't push it.

In the future, I would advise not buying the full version until after you try the demo, if you're using a demo.

Okay! Thank you for the information. I will play the demo first before re-buying the first game. :)
P.S. How long is the demo version anyway?

It's hard to give an exact figure, but I'd say under an hour if you read at a decent pace. It goes up through the OP sequence, and then stops.

One thing to be aware of: the English translation changed considerably from the demo, so you might be interested in rereading that first part. One example is the term "Neko" (literally "cat"), which is used in the original Japanese as the term for catgirls (in contrast to the more typical "nekomimi" or "cat ears"). The demo's translation left it as "Neko", but then they changed it to "catgirl(s)". It's more familiar to Western audiences, I guess, although it implies a gender not implied by "Neko". The overall quality of the English is noticeably improved, though.

I see then. Thanks for the information again! :)

Hey there, fllthdcrb! I tried to refund the full game of Nekopara 1 but it didn't work as I had alrady gone pass the expiring date when I bought the game anout a month ago. So I guess that means I have to delete the demo, if I were to play the already completed game instead. :(

Yeah, a month is waaaaaaay over the limit. I guess you're committed, if you want to save money. But nah, the demo has nothing to do with this. Keep it or delete it, doesn't matter. It's free, after all. It's just a matter of whether you care about the differences (something that interests me, for instance), or you just want to see the story. If the latter, then there's no reason to keep the demo, since the same part of the story is covered in the regular versions.

I suppose but whenever I try to open up the demo file, it doesn't work as I already had purchase the full edition of Nekopara 1 even if I didn't plan on playing it straight away. This has also happened to another game which I first downloaded its demo and bought the final version at the same time (although, I decided to leave it as the longplay for the demo was up to 20 minutes which isn't much to be honest). However, I guess I can try again uploading the demo but it will probably futile after a while.

This might be drifting into less important territory, but I'll say this anyway, as I'm unsure about what you said...

How do you know that's the reason? Did it actually give you a message to that effect? Or are you just guessing? My own guess would be an unrelated technical problem. Also, do you have the demo in Steam or standalone?

an unrelated technical problem as I kept on clicking the icon non-stop but nothing happened (even if I have to wait for a few minutes/seconds), but I had already deleted it a few days ago and I can't put it back on my computer as I got the full game, so it wouldn't make much of a change to be honest. :/

It's strange. I tried installing it myself, on a Steam with nothing installed. It just decided to give me the full version instead. I don't know why they did that. I guess they don't want us to have both for some unknown reason. Oh well. You don't need to see the demo that badly. Though if you still want to, I guess you'll have to get the non-Steam version.

I guess but I wonder if I were to get the Nekopara 1 demo even if I wasn't logged onto Steam, eh?

Doesn't work like that, unfortunately. You can go to the store in any web browser, but the run and install links you get are "steam://" URIs (you would install this demo with "steam://install/334660", for instance). You have to pass them to your Steam client, which handles the installation. But it won't do anything unless you're signed in. If you really, really wanted the demo in Steam, I think you'd have to install it in an account where you haven't installed the full version. (To be clear, when I said "a Steam with nothing installed", I was talking about a Steam installation connected to the same account, just with none of the games installed locally.)

But would that work if I were to open up another account onto Steam?
