Any other VN where you can switch languages easily?
Hello,

I would like to know if there are other VN where you can switch easily between english and japanese (just by pressing a key for example)? It doesn't need to be that the 2 languages are displayed at the same time on the screen, like in nekopara, although it is even better^^, just that you can rapidly switch.

or maybe it is the norm when the VN offers both subitles in english and japanese?

If there is audio dialogues it is even better!

thank you

MangaGamer's currently ongoing release of Higurashi When They Cry, called Higurashi When They Cry Hou, has this feature, both as a menu option and as a keypress toggle (L). (Also, "P" to switch between original and Steam sprite sets.)

Higurashi is NVL style, so you can only see one language at a time.

Oh, and as for audio, the PS3 release of Higurashi has audio dialogue performed by the cast of the anime. It's not officially available for PC versions, but fan patches are available, though they have a few small problems, such as a few missing lines, changed dialogue on occasion, and lack of integration (sound effect volume slider controls voices as well; and you don't get features you expect from voiced VNs, like a replay button or syncing the text while in auto mode (it will happily cut off lines that go on too long)). But they do enhance the experience quite a bit.

Chusingura 46+1 S lets you change between English and Japanese at will. It's a little more clunky than this game though since there's no hotkey, so you need to take a second to open the menu and change it, but you get used to it. First chapter is also completely free and is like 11 hours long, so I'd recommend at least trying it. It also has a fan-****ing-tastic story, so there's that.

I've also heard good things about Go Go Nipon with the whole dual subtitles thing, but I haven't put a whole lot of time into it.
thank you very much for the answers :)

a bit sad for higurashi audio though but i heard the game is amazing and umineko too.
Chusingura looks very appealing as i LOVE long and detailed stories..

Yeah, I absolutely loved the game. One warning though - it does sometimes use some rather archaic Japanese since the game takes place in the early 1700s, so it might not be super beginner friendly. Still worth a shot though, in my opinion.

I like this feature in Nekopara. Not only you can switch language easily, you also can view two languages simulataneously. However I must admit, there is something strange in learning languages by playing lewd neko moege, LOL

There's something strange about learning a language by playing/reading anything like this, lewd or not. Don't rely on it, or your education is going to be pretty skewed. But as long as you have a solid lesson plan as a base, it doesn't hurt to practice in extra ways, right?
