Try to repair the game, if it is not working you can be sure that the game was removed.
A little help for the future, backup Savegames with the GameSave Manager it is easy to use and the Backup uses less space as the savegames because it is only one file.
You can also setup the program to make scheduled backups
Maybe I should specify: I have the Anno 1404: Venice edition, not the new one that's on steam right now.
I am the only user so if the game was ever uninstalled, then it was either steam or windows.
Weird. Thanks for the GameSave Manager recommendation.
I never do that because it is not the same size as the folder has on your harddrive ;)
If you check the folder size under "X:\Steam\steamapps\common\anno1404\" the folder has 5GB because you need the Maingame Anno 1404 to play Venice.
Doesn't matter the game uses the same Savegame locations and the same profile locations. ;) So if you would buy the new one you would not lose anything.
Well, I guess RIP my 80hr game, but a lesson learned. Thanks again for the recommendation.
Is there any way that your original save game was created using an online profile? This may have been affected and lost when our online servers for the game were closed on June 1st.
Going forward players can now only create offline profiles to play, so may be something worth considering. I apologize that you lost access to you 80 hour campaign.

Oh, now that you mention it - yes, definitely. It was made with my online profile. Ironically, I thought this was the safer option.
I'm guessing there's no way to download my profile data?
But if you buy the new Version, you should be able to play it again ;) because as i wrote before there is not difference in the profiles ;)
Tip, the Hiistory Edition is currently on Sale in the Ubisoft Store for only $7,49/7,49€ ->

Also the History Edition is worth every cent, since they updated it to 64-bit there are no issues with the memory anymore.
You also get Multiscreen Support, Borderless Window Mode, 4K Resolution and some features from Anno 1800.
IDK i love it since they announce it and because it don't crash like the Original.
Also the servers run 12 years, which is 50-70% longer than most other strategie game severs. ;)
I googled a liittle bit and found out all Savefiles are stored in "X:\Users\Your username\Documents\Anno 1404\Savegames" they only synced with your Ubisoft Account if it was an Online Profile.
The same happend with the profiles folder under "C:\Users\Your username\AppData\Roaming\Ubisoft\Anno1404\Profiles"
Since your folder is gone, something other happend or got wrong.
