Can't join any multiplayer online session
I've tried to play Anno1404 Venice online, but to no avail. When I first tried to join a session, it said my port setup might be wrong (something about Port 9103), so I opened that port and a couple other ports I found in other threads where people had problems. Nothing. I've tried turning off my router's firewall. Nothing. Of note, I have not restarted my computer after changing the port settings, but that should have no effect, right?

I have even asked other people in the lobby if they can play and they said yes, even though have not opened any additional ports..
Can anyone help me?

Did you also open the ports in your PC Firewall?
Sometimes the Firewalls also block the ports, so you have to open them there too.

All TCP/UDP ports are open for Anno by default in my windows firewall. :/

There is no "Default" in the Windows Firewall....I know there are 4 entrys with "Anno 1404 Venice" and 2 entrys with "AddonWeb" in the Firewall but if you look into them they say "Ports = All" thats wrong. You need to specify them, also the AddonWeb entry is set to Private and there is no Anno 1404 Entry

So turn the Firewall off and try if you can join MP, if this i working you have to open them in your Windows Firewall.

The Ports for Anno 1404 are 9100 and 9103 UDP

You make a good point. I've turned off both my windows firewall and the router firewall, I still get the same error..

Hm really strange.
I had once a problem with a dedicated server on my Root Server and i could only solve it by adding the .exe in the Firewall to the port i opened.

But i also tried to find out what ports Anno 1404 is using and i found these as UDP 9100, 9103, 16000

Did you have opened them all? Also in the Windows Firewall?

No, I hadn't. But since I've just deactivated both firewalls entirely and it still didn't work, this problem must be somewhere else?

Deactivate your anti virus program if you have one.
If this is not the problem then i don't know.

A bit late. But do you have fiber or cable? Some companies have ports blocked on their side, you might need to contact your ISP and ask about it.
