edit saved game files?

Can the time played in a saved game file be successfully changed? If so, how? In my quest for the Gold Ship I'm stuck on the Emirate achievement. I thought if I could reduce the time played in a saved game I might finally finish it. I've changed the time played value in a saved game file using RDA Explorer plus Note Pad ++ but then the save will not load any more. Thanks for any help with this or any tips on the Emirate achievement. I'm playing on the slowest speed but just am very slow in developing my settlements. You have 5 hours (300 minutes) to meet the challenge and need a minimum of 153 in-game minutes using Academy of Wisdom time reduction to build the entire Sultan's Mosque start to finish so if you don't start after 147 minutes of play you fail. I either don't have enough coin or Envoys to start the Mosque at that point in any of my numerous attempts.

No you can't edit the save file it is encrypted.

Heh thats not true ... :) that u cant edit saves :) u can even change human player to a other player and multiplayer working ... it only dissable off archievements ... if u want to know how ... send me a message 'O.o ... but yes it is encrypted ... :D even that can be changed so it saves normaly not in ***** protection ... :) i had .. more damaged ship is ... more faster it goess :D:D flaming vessel - ghost rider ... i hate locked stuff by developers !!! I PAYD FOR THE GAME I WANT TO DO WHAT EVER I WANT EDIT WHAT EVER I WANT !! on GTA u edit only handling and cars flying ... bike 999km/h . <UseBinarySavegames>1</UseBinarySavegames> change to 0 and you will get save normal readable ... this stupid developers hide everything ... WE OWN THE GAME ... i buy car i can do what ever with it ... same for the game ,,, poorest thing that they lock the server tools in safe and let the game die) cuz u cant even play it ... look at counter strike or warcraft ... that old games ... never dies more players plays then new games thats sad and poor
