Yes you miss the feature's from venice in the campaign but the campaign is filled quite good so you won't miss them as much like you would in a sandbox game.
The scenario's themselfs are nice things wich could be alot of fun and even give some unique things to do (like take the role of the corsairs for examples). And give you bonus gems on completion.
Compared to content the scenario's add equal playtime compared to the campaign but in terms of story it is lacking as they have nothing to do with each other.
