Horriffic movement bugs

Is anyone else experiencing terrible, game-breaking bugs on Windows 11? I've tried fullscreen and windowed, different aspect ratios and different antialias options, compatibility modes, everything I could think of.

I can't even get to the tower. When climbing up from the beach where the body is found, the main character seems to think the ladder is about 5-10 meters to the left of where the graphics show it. When I click on the background hotspot to move towards the tower, he runs off the cliff to the right. Out into the air, disappearing outside the camera frame…

I've managed to get him 1-2 screens further with some experimentation, but on the road he just continues running outside the screen and gets stuck and I can't progress.
