Step 1)
Follow the instructions in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7RZdx7Ytwk , instead of adding the app, he adds in the video, add: config.exe, cossacks.exe and editor.exe in the folder where you have Cossacks 3 installed.
You may have to reboot your PC to save changes.
Step 2)
Open Control Panel.
Go to User Accounts > User Accounts and choose Change User Account Control settings.
Move the slider all the way down until it says Never Notify.
Click OK to save changes.
Step 3)
Make sure you have Java installed. Dunno why but I just thought it could be the reason why the game keeps crushing. As far as I know the game is not using Java system, but I installed Java anyways...
Also make sure you have the newest drivers installed and the game is up to date.
