Can not play with AMD 6800 XT

Hi everyone, i've just bought a new GPU, 6800XT, tried to open Cossacks 3 and got several issues.
First that i see is that when i'm loading into the game: the text actually becomes just a full square of pixels instead of letters on the loading screen, so basically it can not load even that.
Secondly the game actually doesn't allow me to load into the game, being stuck in this screen forever, until i recieve some error like: Access violation at address x000000000, soometime i have other errors, i can provide them if at least somebody replies.
Third case: i can actually load into the game, but only if i select small map size. Next what i see then is:
-No water
-No, or partly not visible units

Funny thing is that when i change map sizes to bigger ones i can't even load to the game
Does anyone know a fix to that?
I tried installing older drivers, for me now i have Radeon Adrenaline Edition 21.11.3 drivers, and windows 10

I'm having similar issues with my AMD 6600. I tried to downgrade my GPU drivers to 21.11.1 version but it's still giving me problems.

yes, i've downgraded to 22.5.x drivers on windows 10, on windows 11 it doesnt work

Did you download it from the official website or through the device manager? It's just that this driver version is available for Windows 7

I have a similar problem. AMD RX 6950xt. Water is not displayed, troops, and some troops are distorted. The latest drivers are installed.

I have same situation. RX 580. Latest drivers. Switching off SSAO is improved situation. With SSAO I have just black screen with UI after map loading.

Seems the latest AMD drivers did also mess up other games like Airships or Patrician 3. I guess we have to wait for AMD to get their act together.

VSYNC toggled off fixed some units being completely weird, but no water texture loading and still some units distorted and not animated.

will check back, had some issues with door kickers 2 a few months ago that got fixed.

Same, but there are countless of posts on steam, and on AMD forums with no possible fix (I'm using RX6700XT).

This is not a fix. But if your really want to play try the following, before the game starts enter the config. turn off shadow maps. All other options can be whatever.

You should notice no graphical glitches (as long as shadowmaps remains off) This indicate that the issue is with the shader. Of course that means no shadows as well.

Another option less favorable is editing the profile.cfg (in your user/documents/Cossacks folder and settings the shader option to stNone (or whatever it would not matter as long as you remove the original settings). This will remove any faction color (all will be grey) but will show shadows I believe.

Note on older drivers, while I would gladly downgrade the drivers, I'd prefer not to since AMD had resolved major issues in the past year, notaeblely, driver crash on full screen alt-tab. I'm not willing to go back to those issues so I'll stick with the latest drivers for now.
