Resolution problems
I keep getting this error whenever I run the game-
http://i.imgur.com/BpcSzoK.png

Basically my laptop res is 1920x1080, I run many games in that res. However none of the resolutions in the Setup Launcher or ingame show up properly. I can't even play in Windowed mode as the game keeps maximizing the game.
Furthermore I am unable to get 60 FPS even with settings at low.

These are my laptop's specs-
GTX 970M
16 GB RAM
Intel iCore i7-6700HQ @ 2.6 ghz (goes up to 3.3 Ghz)

Me too I get this error, I don't know why, sure that a resolution problem?

Well I don't know what to refer to it properly though :P
Right now I managed to get the game to run fine but at these settings-
1- Fullscreen
2- 1600x900

I still have it run at 30 FPS, which i think is odd as the game doesn't appear to be demanding so 60 FPS should be doable.

Please try this.

Hello Guys any crashes please do this,

PATH_TO_STEAM_FOLDER\steamapps\common\Cossacks3
Usually:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Cossacks3

To run game as an Administrator, right click on cossacks3.exe and choose Run as Administator. This should be done only once, to allow game to add itself to DEP application exception list.

Second way to find game folder is to open it from Steam.
Right-click on Cossacks 3->Properties->Local files->Browse local files.

if you are having issues with the game menu UI/ buttons not working

Set windows zoom\scale to 100%, not bigger

if you are having issues with your resulution please try this.

If you have issues with resolutions, these tips will solve the problem.
At least, I've solved my problem with resolution.

For those who fail to put the game in full-screen 1920 * 1080 is the solution.

1. Right-click on "Cossacks 3" in Steam -> Properties -> Local files -> Browse local files.
You are now in the game folder.
2. Right-click on 'cossacks' -> Properties -> Compatibility -> check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings".
Try to launch the game and play.

Thanks, that got 1920x1080p working properly for me.
However I still have the game running at a max of either 25-30 FPS at best regardless of my gfx settings.

The problems with poor performance on laptops:
- Manually set a video card the game should choose
Tizoc Sep 23, 2016 @ 7:58am
I did that already but It still runs at 25-30 FPS.

Yes, one solution is above.

Also one of the solutions of performance:

In graphics card profile high performance was set on the wrong process. It was set to cassackssetting, instead of cossacks.exe, where performance was set as infinite. So the game ran on the integrated card. You just need to set performance on cossacks.exe to maximum.

Ah OK seems the game was using my Intel HD Graphics card. Just went to Nvidia Control Panel and set it to be the main GFX card for all my games.
Well everything is running properly now without any crashes or bizarre error messages.

Please let us know if it works
