Campaign help ?

I don't know what part this is but it's the campaign 2 part where you capture 4 turk bases, right now i need to make an ambush and steal enemy's cannons ? How do i do that ? my troops get killed at cannon towers

First mission of the Austrian mission, no ?
You must have met some sort of merchant that tell you that turkish soldiers with some cannon will pass where he stand. It's here that you need to make the ambush and wait for the ennemy to pass.
Since they need to pass between the two hills, you can put some shooter on top of each hill to fire at them without almost any risk. What I will write next are some tips to win the mission more easily but it will take you the joy of discovering them.

You can get shooter in a small village at the top of the map in the mountain where there is Pandurs they will fight for you if your hero (the cuirassier) talk to them. You also have another group of polish musketeer and serdiuk on the eastern hill just under the turkish fort at the top-left corner, no need to risk your to talk to them.

If you want more cannon on the bottom-left corner of the map there are some unmanned that you can take without any risk.

Prepare a lot of gold because at some point of the game someone will come, he will offer to find worker in exchange of gold, the more gold you have the more peasant you will get (max is 10 000 gold)

There are some villager at the left of the first village near the river they will come for free. Also most gold mine are in the top of the map.

If you want to go for the success of this mission where you need to catch the caravan, make croat. They are fast to move and form, but a bit costly to upgrade. Don't forget the upgrade for cavalry in the smith. For the infantry melee will be your best choice, if you go for roundshier make all the upgrade, for pikemen only the first three attack and defense upgrade are necessary, the other being to expensive.

About that merchant: When I payed 10k, he walked with it. I got the option to intercept him, so I did, he then said he was gonna get some peasants, so I let him go (I wanted the peasants, not the 10k back). He got on a ship, which sailed west and then exploded. Never heard of him again. Is there a way to get the peasants after paying the 10k?

It didn't happen to me I got the peasant but I paid less, I was to lazy to restart again to see
