Anno 1404 World Editor Map Settings - Where? (Original & Venice)
Greetings

Are there any players here familiar with the World Editor in Anno 1404? I tried searching for help but, internet search engines are just too utterly, utterly useless these days. I also tried other forums and looked at tutorials but, they are all in German. I have the original retail version of the game.

Anyway, I got the World Editor working and built a map but, how can I adjust the settings for the map? Like start conditions, revealed map, disasters, goals etc. There are no such options in the World Editor, apart from corsairs level and a single difficulty setting. Is there someplace else where I can adjust the map settings, or a program that allows me to edit the world file perhaps?

Thanks!

I believe there is an option to select these game conditions. If not, it is in another editor that comes with the typical world editor bundle.

Download iTool, there's a few lines of text about it on the wiki page about the official anno 1404 tools. Besides could you maybe upload your savegame? I would love to use the map creator!

2 year necro, I know anyways here are some guides for iTool and World Editor: see links in dmdilk's post: https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1466973-Tool-One-help-needed

Dragon: How did you get the World Editor to work for the steam version, registry editing? I tried that and it still doesn't work; instructions I found are confusing / incomplete. Any help with this would be appreciated.

I never got it to work after many hours of trying, perhaps you'll be more successful.

Bit of a necro again but, just to respond, I don't have the Steam version, I just prefer Steam forums over Ubisoft forums.

I may have a look at it again to recap.

Scroll down to Toolset 1.2 (ToolOne + World Editor)- 15 MB (08.03.2010)
Install, make sure you have fonts on your PC set to 100% or 150%, World Editor will crash if your PC is set to 125%.

When finished with your Map and it's saved, open Tool 1 or Tool 1 Add-on. Go to File and open your Map. Go to File again and click on World properties, Fill in as much info as you want. You need the map name and difficulty, Description and image are optional, click Ok.

Next, click on View. Default Values and Expert Values both need check mark. On right side expand Template menu and scroll down to and click on Balancing. Below that, make sure you are in the properties view.

Go down to EndlessGamePresets, then Custom. You can choose all your starting settings here.

Go down to GameCreateParameters. On my map Iv'e chosen the Armada. I can't remeber where I found the code for the different ships but you can edit them here. The numbers I do have are, 15951 and 15918 for gold and silver ships, 15929,15930 and 15931 Global enemy trading ships. 15932, Corsair escort ship. 15934, Global enemy Soulcatcher. 15935, Beggar ship. 15938, Campaign cursed ship. 15923, Achievement ship. 15916, Large warship. 15914, Large trading ship. 40002002, Large Venetian cog. You can select the cargo for each of your ships in the ShipLoad line.

On this map I experimented with FertilityProductivity, I changed the values for Desert and WrongZone to 100 as well as NoriaProductivityBonus, changed the Growing time to .05 minutes. I can grow Southern crops and Northern crops on all islands even though the game tells me it's the wrong zone, the crops grow. I can grow crops in desert areas without Norias, the only exception is the forester, he has to be in a green area or you need to place a Noria in desert areas.

chrisben1: are you using tool1 / world editor on the steam version of this game? It is not working for me; have read about registry edits, still doesn't work / open. How exactly do you set fonts to 100 % on windows 10?

I have both the DVD version and Steam version. World editor and Tool1 work for both versions as long as you follow the installation directions.

I'm using Win7, Don't have any idea about Win10.

Right click on desktop,Go to bottom of window and select Personalize. Go to bottom left hand side of window and click on Display.

Did you have to mess with the registry to get it to work with the steam version?

No.
