Dragon: How did you get the World Editor to work for the steam version, registry editing? I tried that and it still doesn't work; instructions I found are confusing / incomplete. Any help with this would be appreciated.
I may have a look at it again to recap.
Scroll down to Toolset 1.2 (ToolOne + World Editor)- 15 MB (08.03.2010)
Install, make sure you have fonts on your PC set to 100% or 150%, World Editor will crash if your PC is set to 125%.
When finished with your Map and it's saved, open Tool 1 or Tool 1 Add-on. Go to File and open your Map. Go to File again and click on World properties, Fill in as much info as you want. You need the map name and difficulty, Description and image are optional, click Ok.
Next, click on View. Default Values and Expert Values both need check mark. On right side expand Template menu and scroll down to and click on Balancing. Below that, make sure you are in the properties view.
Go down to EndlessGamePresets, then Custom. You can choose all your starting settings here.

Go down to GameCreateParameters. On my map Iv'e chosen the Armada. I can't remeber where I found the code for the different ships but you can edit them here. The numbers I do have are, 15951 and 15918 for gold and silver ships, 15929,15930 and 15931 Global enemy trading ships. 15932, Corsair escort ship. 15934, Global enemy Soulcatcher. 15935, Beggar ship. 15938, Campaign cursed ship. 15923, Achievement ship. 15916, Large warship. 15914, Large trading ship. 40002002, Large Venetian cog. You can select the cargo for each of your ships in the ShipLoad line.

On this map I experimented with FertilityProductivity, I changed the values for Desert and WrongZone to 100 as well as NoriaProductivityBonus, changed the Growing time to .05 minutes. I can grow Southern crops and Northern crops on all islands even though the game tells me it's the wrong zone, the crops grow. I can grow crops in desert areas without Norias, the only exception is the forester, he has to be in a green area or you need to place a Noria in desert areas.

Did you have to mess with the registry to get it to work with the steam version?
