It wasn't ignored because they shared the same name...it just wasn't released on PC. The Wii player-base is too small and everyone there only thinks of Mario or Zelda anyways.
It was a bad decision IMO.
What’s different in that version? Everything, a lot more platforming, unique powers that are not just time related, the original game included, completely original story + levels.
I would call the Wii playerbase anything BUT small xD. It was one of the best selling consoles ever made
Its much more reasonable to say that 3D Platformer 1 is better than 3D Platformer 2, instead of trying to compare a 3D Platformer with a 2D PSP game
This is weird... there appear to be 4 different "Forgotten Sands" Prince of Persia games with COMPLETELY different stories and levels! This happens sometimes where different developers handle different ports, but even then they usually work within the confines of a set story. An example is the 007 Nightfire game, with a VERY different game on consoles and PC but the same story. PC, Nintendo DS, Wii & PSP versions of the game are, as said, completely different storylines. It looks like the DS version actually appears to be a sequel to the Wii version. The intro of the Wii version showed him working with a fairy he had apparently just met, while the DS version appeared to have the same fairy saying the Prince had forgotten their time together years ago.
Anyway, I think I'll watch playthroughs of these different versions to get the 'complete' Forgotten Sands experience after I play the PC version. Thanks for this post, I would have assumed all the different versions were just ports.
