Forgotten Sands not launching
Alright, Steam community, let's see if anyone can help me with this problem I'm having. I have Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands trying to run on windows 10, on an AMD FX and a GTX 1050Ti with 16 gb of ram and all updated drivers/software, though I don't believe its a hardware or os incompatibility. Steam will begin launching the game by directing me to the Uplay client, since it requires the Uplay Launcher. The Uplay Launcher will then give the "Launching your game" screen, all working as it should. It ends, though, with the game never actually launching, at both steam and uplay reverting to ready to play. I'm not sure if the game crashed or just never fully launched, since the error logs are unclear
There is a rare occasion where the game starts, only to crash soon after, the furthest I got being right after the opening cutscene, where I opened the pause menu and got a foggy background and a movable with no other response.
The game is running version 1.0, though I don't know if there were any patches for the pc.

Fixes I've tried, without going into too many details:
Moving the game files to the drive with the os.
Adjusting a particular registry item to read 1.0, instead of 1.000000 (it was defaulted at 1.0 already).
Running steam, or uplay, or both, in offline mode.
Running the .exe in compatibility for windows 7.
Running the .exe as an administrator.
A long process normally suggested for a black screen bug fix with this game involving replacing the .exe's with slightly different versions.
Contacting Ubisoft support.
Disabling security or antivirus
None of these improved the problem.

I did find one other thread with what could be a similar problem, but no one had responded with a possible fix, and it wasn't as detailed.

Thoughts, anyone? I thought this was a great addition to the Prince of Persia series and was hoping to find a fix for the problem.

I did just find a solution that did solve my problem. I'll record the steps here for future reference.
Note: it could be a smart idea to do thise regularly to avoid anything like this happening again.

1. Completely exit the Steam client.
2. Open the run dialogue by pressing Windows key + R. You can also navigate here from the start menu by typing run.
3. Type steam://flushconfig and press Enter. If asked to allow this website to open a program, please click Allow or OK.
4. Restart your computer.
5. Now launch Steam directly from the installation folder, not from a pre-existing shortcut (~C:\program files (x86)\Steam).
-The Steam application will either appear as Steam or Steam.exe depending on whether your settings show file extensions.

You need set compatibility with windows 7 and run as administrator

Thank you for pointing that out, it does work in some occassions, and may be a first option to see if it solves the issue.
My issue required the answer I posted, unfortunately.

I FOUND THE SOLUTION!!!! If you have a controller connected to your computer, just disconnect it, and you can launch the game ! don't worry you can always reconnect your controller in game. :D
