Native 1440p and high framerates?
So the original PoP games obviously needed some tweaking since widescreen wasn't as adopted back then. They also didn't take kindly to framerates over 60 and multicore processors.

Since this game is from 2010, does it support 1440p and 100+ FPS without issues?

Seems to be forcing 60Hz on my monitor. Tried forcing it to 120 or higher through nVidia Control Panel, but no cigar. Any way to unlock this?

For anyone wondering I uncapped the framerate by turning off vsync in nVidia control panel. Unfortunately this introduced absolutely shocking screen tearing even with gsync enabled. Using 'fast' vsync solved the screen tearing but introduced minor frame pacing issues typical of 'fast' vsync. I'll just be playing at the default 59hz as no other solution feels as smooth.

Thanks for taking the time to share this exe3!

As we didn't respond here initially, I'd also like to clarify that we don't advise running the game higher than 60fps / 60hz as this isn't natively supported so can lead to issues.

I used ForceFix to force 165 Hz in 1440p. My monitor has a refresh rate on screen display, and with ForceFix running the game runs at native 165 Hz.

Thanks for sharing what worked for you paradox0355, appreciate it!

We must warn players to please take care when using third party software / making changes to the game files though.

If there's anything else we can answer at all though, please let us know!

Sorry to necro this thread, but I'm running this game on Debian 12 with a RX6650XT OC and VSync is NOT enabled. My monitors are 1080P/165Hz and I get frames from 600-900 which is only bad because it makes the CPU temps jump to 65*C where as running a newer game at 165Hz on ultra settings only hits 55-60. Is there an internal config file to manually set this?

Just use the framerate limiter in Radeon Software and lock it to 162 (a bit below your monitor's max refresh rate to accomodate for microspikes).
