Zuma Deluxe

Zuma Deluxe

3D rendering of game
I'm assuming that because it is such an old game, you can't use the the 3D rendering options to make the balls roll, but by any (low) chance has anyone managed to do it with a modern pc?

[SOLVED!]

I have one, no evidence of 3d acceleration on, and yet the balls actually look like they roll. I'm not sure if it's on.

I've got Zumas Revenge on Origin and its hardware accelerated good looking and silky smooth with ball rolling and what not like its supposed to but this deluxe looks like ass and is nowhere near as smooth with no ball rolling

This caused my 2011 laptop to lag, so I do not think it will work. Although, it could be because the laptop I used does not have the best specifications. Update: It works on a 2010s HP EliteDesk

Hi, this could possibly get fixed!
  1. Check error type. Launch Regedit and navigate to \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Steam\Zuma\Test3D. If FailureReason is Not enough video memory. then read on.
  2. Edit Zuma.exe with a hex editor.
  3. Navigate to offset 0x1CECE7. You should see something like ... FA FF FF 73 46 68 20 42 ....
  4. Edit 73 to EB so it looks like ... FA FF FF EB 46 68 20 42 ..., save the file.
And it's done! Try enable 3D Acceleration and ignore the warning.
Maybe I'll upload the patched file later. If it doesn't work reply here.

I got to step two and now I'm confused by the hex editor bit. Could you explain it to me cause I'm dumb? Thank you (:

You can use something like HxD Editor[mh-nexus.de].
Open Zuma.exe with it, press Ctrl-G (Goto address) and input 1CECE7, you should see cursor at the line:
001CECE0 00 89 85 68 FA FF FF 73 46 68 20 42 55 00 8D 8D .‰…húÿÿsFh BU...
Point to 73 and type EB then it's OK.

It Depends on the hardware, I use a Windows 10 Laptop, and on Fullscreen mode, The 3D Rendering is slow, however, when it's not on Fullscreen mode, It works perfectly fine.
