- Out of 6 promised features, I can only vouch for being an action horror, and good graphics. "Coming in later chapters" is not a very good selling point. In short, I think this was a success, but it really didn't go further than the same demo turning HD. I know you're waiting for Chapter 2's sales to start working on improvements, but I think a lot of people won't be convinced by what's present so far to purchase the rest, there are larger games at lesser price of one chapter.
- There was some settings window at the start, I've checked "don't show again" and now I can't find it. Stuff like resolution and language should probably be in the game's setting menu.
- The map doesn't go away after leaving the maze, which at the final escape it totally should.
(part 1/3)
- An adjustable map size and position. A square that covers 25% of the screen creates a blind spot on the left, which could be used to avoide an ambush.
- Bierce's animations could use some work. No idle animation, chippery mouth movements, lips don't always move, clothes clip through themselves, and some other stuff that can probably adjusted with more funds.
- No real replayability yet besides getting the S rank, which sounds like useless effort. Unless there's a secret "actual Pac-Man's maze" for getting every nightmare's S ranks.
- An option to replace jumpscares with classic blood animation. And more death scenes, maybe some random funny cutscenes.
(part 2/3)
- Challenge modes like, 1 life, no power-ups, full darkness, quieter enemies, etc.
- Were Bierce's lines about nearby enemies removed? And having random lines would give space for promised dark humor.
- More painting variety in the hallways. The game looks beautiful, but nobody will care for it after 8 minutes if corridors are near identical.
- I don't understand what Shard Streak is for. Losing no lives is the same as having a max streak. And it would be nice to display such combo on the map.
- Steam Achievements. Which maybe add a decoration for each into the Ballroom.
- Steam Workshop support as a last stretch goal. If it will be possible to load a maze and textures, it would provide a massive room for custom levels.
(part 3/3)
Haha, you might have guessed correctly. Lets just say whoever gets S rank in every world will get to experience something in DD that others will not. ;)
