Something similar happened with chapter 4. Two years of a wait. This game has insane detail and they're trying to develop three similar games at once, manage merchandise,
and manage social media accounts. Just making their game involves making hundreds of 3D models that are sometimes animated, creating audio and music, and figuring out how one would go about coding the entire thing. Since these three projects almost certainly cost money to continue updating, they almost certainly have to produce merchandise in order to continue development. This means producing and shipping the products that are being sold. At this rate, long delays are to be expected. They can't really just quit the development of "Monsters & Mortals" and "Super Dark Deception" since they still have a somewhat active playerbase that is also likely waiting for updates. In conclusion, the incredible detail of the game, mixed with the involvement of two separate video games that are still actively being developed, along with a merchandise store that requires active management, has resulted in an incredibly long wait inbetween each update.
