Can't change to 1920x1080 resolution
As the title says, I simply can't find a way to change the game's resolution to standard 1080p.

There are no settings in-game that I can find ("resolution scale" certainly isn't it). I've tried fiddling with the GameUserSettings.ini file, but no dice. The game stubbornly remains at a paltry 1280x720 resolution, both when windowed and in full screen.

In case it matters, I've got a GeForce 2080 RTX, an Intel Core i7- 168750H CPU and 16 GB of RAM. In short, well above the game's recommended specs.

Has anyone run into the same issue and found a solution?

I haven't run into any issues personally. Try messing with the settings area a bit more. If not than maybe contact Glowstick Entertainment on twitter or send them an email.

I've tried every option under "Graphics" (quality, resolution scale, motion blur, vsync), changing them from the lowest possible values to the highest possible values and none of it changes the resolution, at least for me.

If you don't mind me asking, what settings are you using to get 1920x1080?

I changed the settings to yours and restarted a few times, but no dice. I'm pretty sure I've already tried those settings, but hey, it was worth a shot.

I can only conclude that the issue lies somewhere deeper in the game. Until the creator updates the game and/or reintroduces the launcher, I'm out of ideas.

Thanks anyway, though.

Sorry. At least I tried helping. Maybe try and get in contact with them ? There is also the chance they already know this exists and will be fixed when Ch.4 launches.

Didn't work. Thanks for the suggestion, though - I hadn't tried that.

There will be more options and settings when Ch.4 is launched, no you do NOT need to buy Ch.4 to get access to these settings. They said that it will be closer to the options in DD:M&M

They will hopefully add this when chapter 4 releases. You can try changing the resolution with the ini files of the engine. You can find these files when pressing (windowsbutton)and(R key) at the same time and then entering the command: %localappdata%\ddeception\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor. Here you will find the ini files. You need to open the ini file called GameUserSettings. And change the following rows to these 'numbers' (your preferred resolution). I do recommend copying the ini file somewhere as backup before you try this because these files are very important for the game,

DesiredScreenWidth=your preferred resolution (width screen)
DesiredScreenHeight=your preferred resolution (height screen)
LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenWidth=your preferred resolution (width screen)
LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenHeight=your preferred resolution (height screen)

for example
DesiredScreenWidth=1920
DesiredScreenHeightt=1080
LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenWidth=1920
LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenHeight=1080

(not sure if this command under this sentence does anything)
from
bUseDesiredScreenHeight=False
to
bUseDesiredScreenHeight=True

Yeah, I tried this on my own a while back. I even made the .ini file "read only" to keep the game from overwriting the settings I'd entered, but no result. The game just refuses to run in 1920x1080 resolution.

I appreciate the tip, though.

Have you changed/added this part too?
ResolutionSizeX=1920
ResolutionSizeY=1080
Box Jun 30, 2021 @ 2:09am
You can try to use nvidia dsr. With another resolution (2k for example). It seems like dark deception thinks you are using a 720p screen which can be caused by a broken driver or another issue. Enabling nvidia dsr (set to 2k or another resolution) will hopefully fix the issue and as a bonus will give you extra anti aliasing and sharper image quality. It does cost quite a bit of performance, though. I recommend disabling it again when done playing dark deception. Updating your graphics card driver might fix it too.

Yes. I've also tried every combination of changes I can think of, with no result.

DSR was an interesting suggestion, but it doesn't change Dark Deception's resolution, no matter which settings I use in the Nvidia Control Panel.

My drivers are up-to-date and I have no issues with any other game. I can only hope that the developers eventually update it and reintroduce the missing graphics options.
