Chapter 4 update *Bug Report Master Thread*
Trying to compile all the bugs into one place as a reference guide. As for the reported fixes section, please understand this is a report generated by users only. So its not absolutely certain its solved it for everyone.

#REPORTED FIXES#

-Frame rate limiter
-Enemy chasing AI
-General fps drops
-Shadow settings (options listed were intended)

----Bugs----

#TORMENT THERAPY#

-Nurses get stuck near elevator/phase through objects etc
-Door clipping and interaction issues
-Frame rate dips
-Numerous Matron Nurse glitches, ambulances not spawning, crashes when hit etc
-Nurse at front desk crashes game
-Loud Noise after initial ambulance ride that wont cease
-Nurses may detect you too easily
-Falling off ambulance during zone 2 resulting in major fps issues
-In zone 2 the bonus shard doesnt spawn, thus making S rank impossible
-Skipping cutscenes while tablet is out, makes it unable to be brought up afterwards
-After collecting the first shard to enter the hospital proper, incorrect message plays
-Skipping receptionist scene causes her to visually glitch out and continue talking
-Reaper Nurse able to stun after you have stunned her already
-Erratic interactions with metal pads in zone 2
-Able to use teleport to go through doors
-Teleport indicator wont show up during ambulance scene
-If you go ahead of nurse and go through a door she will get trapped when going back
-Strange interaction with Matron that causes nurses to despawn when she spots you
-Matron Nurse death scene crashes game and requires another attempt
-Matron nurse spotting you results in nurses despawning and her model breaking
-When boarding 2nd ambulance, something is falling from the ceiling/despawning etc
-During jail escape scene, roof is completely dark
-Nurses are invincible in Matron fight
-Audio is completely missing, restarts, etc wont fix either
-Speed Boost + shift in zone 2 elevator will glitch you out of bounds.
-After Matron destroys a ambulance. The reaper nurse floats in the air
-Reaper nurse animation breaks after saying "what am I saying, of course!"
-Nurse who pulls trap lever in jail scene glitches out

#MASCOT MAYHEM#

-Frame rate dips
-Ability to go out of bounds in the joykill fight
-Using primal fear on joykill forcing him to interact with pusher may crash the game
-Possible for mist malak to enter scene he shouldnt be in
-In joykill survival room, able to stunlock into a harmless state
-Knocking boss into lava causes a crash, progress saves anyway, no achievement
-FPS spikes when going underground
-JoyJoy Gang dont spawn initially during cameras area, requiring a restart to fix
-Able to walk on lava after falling off platform, requiring a restart to fix
-Phantom Malak falls into lava after joykill fight and becomes stuck
-Hearing two themes play simultaneously during 1st joykill fight
-Dying to joykill after he lands from a jump will not kill you but softlock the game
-Able to use teleport to go through doors
-In zone 2's large room with shelves you can teleport through walls.
-Ghost Malak can be trapped in Hangry's breakout walls
-Door to Zone 3 wont open requiring a restart
-Joykill death scene causes crash, upon resuming you're already in escape part
-Unusual behavior by Penny, allowing her to track you unfairly
-Hangry will sometimes refuse to bust out of the wall protecting a secret room
-Collecting entrance secret at the start, rather then the end chase, will not count
-Able to get S rank but still not get the achievement

#BEARLY BURIED#

-Teddy AI in zone 1 is erratic, resulting in not being able to progress for some users
-Falling in a certain hole during boss fight has no death plane
-Possibility of a rock covering a hole in the boss fight, causing unintended damage
-In zone 3 the shard indicator may refuse to pop up or points in the wrong direction
-Mama Bear and trigger teddies dont move after latest update (9/29)
-At the ring altar, Mama bears second form can be seen in the pit below
-In zone 3, teddy with real shard doesnt spawn, rendering no death impossible
-Bonus shards simply dont show up at all
-Skipping scene after 2nd Mama boss fight causes her 1st model to lay on floor.
-Breaking boards in the 1st Mama chase scene causes crash unless you look at floor
-Able to throw rocks through invisible walls in 1st Mama Bear fight
-Trigger Teddies go into Mama's room
-Able to teleport through Mama bears hands in escape scene
-Two Mama Bears in the 2nd boss fight
-Hole near stairs in escape scene is spinning
-Various problems obtaining many achievements

----Ch. 1-3----

#MONKEY BUSINESS#

-Monkeys wont chase, get stuck on geometry, and phase through barriers
-Chef Monkey causes crashes
-Collecting all shards/secrets and no death then breaking 1st board causes crash
-Passing through the kitchen causes crash

#ELEMENTARY EVIL#

-Agatha wont chase, get stuck on geometry, and phase through barriers
-Agatha's "trap room" loops endlessly with no way to progress
-Agatha's escape sequence riddled with unavoidable deaths, glitched portals
-EE entrance barrier causes a gpu driver crash
-Numerous glitches with the schoolbus that break the lvl etc

#DEADLY DECADENCE#

-Gold watchers wont chase, and get stuck on geometry etc
-Opening options then hitting ESC wont remove menu = softlock
-Teleporting on a torch will make watchers unable to kill you
-Can teleport into secret rooms
-Spot on manor stairs that malak cant reach you

#STRANGER SEWERS#

-Ducks wont chase, get stuck on geometry, and phase through barriers.
-Able to see where fake ducks spawn
-Doom Ducky able to attack through pillars
-Problems with valve during boss and barrier wont go away
-Various teleport glitches to bypass walls/objects/enemies
-Able to turn valve without being near it during Doom Ducky
-Blockage at entry instantly vanishes instead of rising up
-Doom Ducky teleports through doors

#CRAZY CARNEVIL#

-Clown Gremlins wont chase, get stuck on geometry etc
-Clown Cars wont move or spawn enemies in zone 1
-During escape Malak becomes tiny and gets stuck
-Boss clowns sometimes stop working
-After grabbing the ring piece you can walk outside the map near the entrance portal
-Boss music stops around 3 killed instead of 4

#MISC#

-Interacting with ring altar results in forced reset or crash
-Losing your final life gives no way to continue or quit without closing program
-Resolution settings wont save after exiting game
-Game crashes at glowstick logo screen
-Upon reboot or resume all soul shards respawn even though ring piece is available
-Audio problems using headphones
-Turning off the frame rate limiter causes worse frames then leaving at 144.
-Possible to crash the game after collecting all soul shards in a zone
-Gaining abilities you shouldnt have yet
-Subtitles randomly become too small and unreadable or missing entirely
-Missing graphics options for shadows
-Pausing while looking at ring altar causes cursor vanish and traps you in menu
-Difficulty changing on its own, or refusing to change at all
-Game softlocks if you pause during a stun etc
-Using teleport on certain elevators causes you to get trapped at the bottom
-Shard streak is lost upon a single death
-Gamma related issues that make some areas too dark or bright
-Steam VR causing errors

I unlocked the first five levels and just finished joker. However, I found that one of my abilities was not unlocked, that is, the power to freeze others was not unlocked. This power is very important in the nurse level, and I cannot do without it. But I dont know how to lock it, do i have to restart all the games:steamfacepalm:
On elementary evil if you're trying for the S rank you won't get it cause the shard streak won't give you the S it says you had 0 streaks might want someone else to attempt it
Low fps, problem on the developer side, not on "poor PC", 'cause other levels work fine but not the Chapter 4 level, where fps drops like crazy no matter how I try to get setting lower.

There is an issue with some machines that cannot keep enough framerate that causes things like enemy AI failing. It's an issue tied down to how the game was coded at its core (most of which is due to Unreal Engine tho) and that's not gonna change which is why Vince is pushing so hard for people to play minimum spec.

However that being said, recent patch seems to be a bit better with a couple crashes? At least for me I noticed the monkey business bug was finally fixed, tho I did die before hand so the bug that collecting all shards before finishing the level might still be an issue

Have yet to visit torment therapy myself. If I have anything to recommend, it's to cap the framerate instead of leaving it on OFF. It seems the OFF option broke something horribly render side, and my massive machine lags way worse than just capping to 144 (which is consistently is hitting at least in the levels I've seen so far)

Really disappointed Nikson hasn't learned from past mistakes about writing code to stop relying on framerates :/ It's Unreal Engine-noob levels of BS.

Updated topic with new reports. Hopefully the recent patch helps
The double menu bug in Deadly Decadence has returned, opening the options menu then attempting to exit options with ESC will make the game start playing but not remove the main pause menu, causing softlock (besides opening another menu on top)
Playing the sixth level last night, the boss fright flashed back on the black screen ,and then the archive of the first five levels disappeared directly
-In the sewer boss fight, when the duck launches his head, sometimes it goes through the columns and kills the player.
-if a fake portal blows up during the cutscene where the hallway door opens to exit the Agatha boss fight, you can die.
-if you pause the game while looking at the ring altar in Bierce's ballroom, you will lose the mouse cursor and be unable to exit it.

I turned on easy mode for DD, but now I am unable to get rid of it in any way
After seeing so many accounts of users experiences with Vince on his twitter I decided to check into it. I have to say its disturbing how he and some of his community have responded to his fans/customers.

I've enjoyed dark deception and im fortunate that most of my issues are standard type bugs that dont prevent gameplay. However there is undeniable amounts of evidence that something is wrong on a code level and it shouldn't be treated as a outlier.

That being said, I hope everyone is able to get to a playable state soon.

The problem is Nikson is the type of developer that writes code that breaks if games drop below certain framerates. It was the same in his Joy of Creation titles, even though there are ways a dev can make a game without relying on framerates

This is why Vincent was being so headstrong about the "trash pc" hottake, as yes he has access to hardware info of all his users via SteamAPI, and he says a major percent are using machines lower than minimum spec. Most likely because most players of Dark Deception came from the FNaF community due to youtuber influence

The problem is, those people complaining about the bugs prevalent in low framerates are wasting the time and ability of us players with actually good machines to report GENUINE bugs. That's why it's hell right now for all of us; Vincent and Nikson are both having trouble understanding which bugs are bugs in the scripting, and which bugs are bugs because of machines not being up to spec. I can understand it's difficult to code motion to not be framerate reliant in Unreal Engine but come on Nikson, if one guy could do it, so can you.

You need to have at least 30 fps to be able to play the game without breaking it, it seems. I despise of both developers going about this in the "toxic to me I'm toxic to you" attitude. It's yanderedev levels of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Obtaining an S Rank in Mascot Mayhem doesn't seem to give "The Luckiest" Achievement.
Vanish just doesn't work on the Nurses.

Dying to Joykill immediately after he lands from a jump won't actually kill the player and will softlock the game.

You can use teleport to go through closed doors, notably locked doors in TT and the left side entry hallway at the start of MM.

The teleport indicator sometimes won't appear on an ambulance, causing you to either simply fall off in the transport sections or straight up die if you're in the boss fight.
Adding onto this, failing to get onto an ambulance in a transport section multiple times due to this bug will cause the platform to not rise up, forcing you to either die or reload a checkpoint.

It is not possible to get a 3/3 Bonus Shards in Bearly Buried ( "Collect all Bonus Shard in 3 Zones") . The first zone in Bearly Buried doesn't have any bonus shards and zone 2 & 3 have a stun orb and a reveal orb each. I always getting 2/3 Bonus Shards as a result, which makes it also impossible to S-Rank
