Online only? And EA App required?

The Steam Deck information flair for MySims says online is required for singeplayer content but MySims Kingdom doesn't have one and the online requirements just advise it's for updates and the like. Also, I can't find any information on whether the EA App is required for the game.

Does anyone know the answer to either inquiry? For Desktop players it doesn't matter as much but for Steam Deck and the like it's important, thank you!

No you don’t need either, its offline and you don’t need EA app

Surprisingly EA was nice about this one and it doesnt seem to use the ea app

I asked for clarification on their discord and a member of their communication team advised the Steam version doesn't require the internet or the EA App to play, thankfully, and they reaffirmed they're angling for full Steam Deck Verified status when they can.
