So does Scott approve or disapprove of fangames?
So here's the story: Someone said Scott gave him permission for a fangame via email (the fnaf 3 fanmade creator), but another person's (freddy fazbear's pizzeria) was shut down by Scott only a matter of hours after he sent an e-mail to Scott about it. Scott emailed him later an automated reply saying fangames are OK as long as you don't use his assets.

FNaF 3 fanmade creator claims his game is approved by Scott. Meanwhile, Fazbear Entertainment, played by xxProClassGamerxx and many more, is untouched. I made Fazbear Entertainment, by the way. (which requires FNaF 1 to play or it won't launch) Scott acts as if it doesn't exist. So, mind to explain/discuss?

You can find the FFP thread where Scott shut it down here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/332800/discussions/0/624075566816302074/
At page 3, final reply.

The thing is that it doesn't have any of the extra content or easter eggs the original game has, and it requires 4 other people to play with you to get a similar experience.
You can just start the game 4 times on the same PC and connect them all to the same server. Fazbear Entertainment also has the easter eggs that the original game has, such as Freddy's Nose.

But then you would just be playing by yourself?

True, but gameplay wise its an exact replica of FNAF, putting aside the nights and the AI. My latest tech demo of the earlier fangame didn't even have AI and it got shut down.

Scott could very well shut down the game, and he definitely has the right to. I guess it's just based on would this fangame make people get it rather than the actual game. To be honest I didn't even know you could publish fangames on Steam, I would have thought the Steam admins wouldn't allow the release of content under someone else's copyright.

I think we should see what the fangames that are out have that does not get them pulled down. Omega's adds mutiplayer to the game and tries to have anti-priacy measures, does it work? I think so. The FNAF3 fan game is a mishmash of the two games while having its own mechanics like the toxic meter or the puppet having a different AI. Then there is five nights at treasure island where everythin is custom made and has its own mechanics. Oh and let's not forget five nights at ****boy's which is an rpg. So the fangames that are allowed bring their own things to the table while trying not to be exactly like the orignal, if the first fangame maybe had custom sprites than I think it may have passed idk.

Also, I doubt Scott would be afraid to shut it down due to fans complaining or because of how much popularity it gained. He already has plenty of popularity so that isn't a question.
Shutting it down would be bad for PR AND business. Remember, people are buying FNaF just to play FE.

Like I said earlier, Scott already has plenty of money and fans. I doubt he would care. All in all, its up to Scott.

Well if he didn't care, he has no reason to shut it down AT ALL.

It uses his assets without his permission. Again, he can shut it down if he wants to. What I don't get, however, is like you said in your post: Scott treats the game as if it does not exist.

NEW FLAWLESS ANTI PIRACY COMING SOON. Only Steam version works. Directly launches from Steam. Won't work if Steam account doesn't own it.
@Corko has NOTHING on this!

Also, I find it very amusing how you are hating on another fan-game, which also uses assets and content from the real games.
Lemme guess what he's going to do next. He treats his FE game like it is better than Super Smash Bros.

Fazbear Entertainment FAQ:
Multiple people so far (at least 4) have bought the game ON THE SPOT just to play this.
4 people =)

How come you told me that was IMPOSSIBLE to do, and hated me for suggesting such methods? Now you are saying it IS possible? So I actually had a point, didn't I?

I didn't tell you it was IMPOSSIBLE to do steam:// commands on a browser, I said it was IMPOSSIBLE to get every possible Steam installation. Someone suggested to use the steam:// browser commands. Maybe listen next time? -_-

Not 4 people. I said at least. Also, that's old. And still, explain why something that over 8k people love and that videos get a lot of views and that people are saying is the best thing ever should be taken down? You hate every FNaF fan except yourself and a select few? Because people are still wanting multiplayer.

I'm hating on the fangame because 1. they claim they have Scott's permission when they do NOT have it 2. they can't even be bothered to put in cam animations or save your cam spot... REALLY? JUST REALLY? No polish! 3. they stole Candy the Cat and renamed him to 'Sugar'.

It's also not 'harassment'. You could have LEFT THE CHAT OR GROUP if you CARED, or UNSUBSCRIBED FROM THE FORUM THREAD. It's not that hard.

frankly I do not find the FNAF 3 fangame to be that good, it needs more polish and better animations, especally for candy/sugar. Also Corko Omega said it is impossible for every steam installed on a computer, the game from what he had said is you need to have five nights at freddy's on your account, even though I can't tell you how to do this it most likely checks the account for FNAF idk exactly how it is done maybe check_varible (FNAF) if FNAF = 1 launch game, I have not touched gamemaker in a while so I don't know for certain.

Agreed.

Yeah it does have a interestin premise: mixing the two games together into one game, but with my complaints it does not click with me and I want 20 animontroinics in the third game, not 7. Imagine 20/20 mode *evil laugh* >:D
