How to make custom jumpscares for FNAF2!
Hello. I have been tinkering around with TexMod, when I discovered an amazing discovery. As we all know, the game is 2d, meaning that all jumpscare animations are basically a compliation of .png (a .gif), meaning that one can edit them. Here is how to make your own jumpscare.
You'll need: TexMod (trusted software): http://www.fileplanet.com/205418/200000/fileinfo/Texmod-v0.9b ((you have to download this one)) FNAF 2 Photoshop ((its free)) OR MS Paint or any image creator and lastly, a creative idea!
Step 1: Download TexMod, and open it. Select the directory of FNAF 2 till it is located.
Step 2: Press the logging mode button on TexMod.
Step 3: Decide your image file output (.png works excellently) and set to log with Enter.
Step 4: Dont Worry about the DEFFILE thing for right now, press RUN at the bottom of the screen
Step 5: Read the on-screen instructions on the top left corner of FNAF 2 ((its in green))
Step 6: Pick an animatronic to replace their jumpscare ((a simple one works good, like any of the old animatronics, not foxy))
Step 7: To trigger the image to appear on the top left corner of the screen, make one of them kill you ((if you have unlocked custom night, this makes this VERY easy)), the image should be unlocked, then press + or - on your numpad till the set of the jumpscare images you want.
Step 8: Once you export them, they should appear in a subfolder in the TexMod folder, called Out. DO NOT DELETE THE .log file in that folder.
Step 9: In a new notepad document, note the pictures in order, do not move them around or rename them, that messes them up.
Step 10: Count the amount of image files the jumpscare is comprised of. That is your amount of frames for your custom thing.
Step 11: Go into each image and change each frame IN ORDER to an image of your jumpscare.
Step 12: A simple way to do this, is to have 1 image, drag it closer to the center of the screen, while repeatedly saving as a different image.
NOTE: The images you make seperately must be transparent
Step 13: Using something like photoshop, crop the original jumpscare out of each EXPORTED image, fix the background, then import the TRANSPARENT image into the ORIGINAL EXPORTED FILES.
Step 14: Polish it how you like, and then go back to texmod, press Package build, locate the .log file from earlier, add a description, and thats all.
Step 15: Go to the first menu of TexMod, press the folder button, select your mod, and PLAY!
