Heroes Fail

Any one know of a fix for this game, just got it and its fails to launch.

the game won't launch, it's say it's playing but nothing happens???

Same here, searched the normal places. Tried the suggestions. Still will not play.

if running windows 7 located the executable for heroes in the steam directory and switch on windows xp sp3 compatibility mode, don't have it to check it but it might work for you.

Windows 7 x64 - same problems. Game was visible in Task Manager, but not run.
SOLVED !!. Here are my steps (I don't know, what helps):

1) [STEAM FOLDER]\steamapps\common\Heroes Over Europe\heroes2.exe - right-click - Properties - Compatibility - Win XP SP 3
2) DISABLE VMWare network adapters, if you have them.
3) Launch [STEAM FOLDER]\steamapps\common\Heroes Over Europe\graphicssettings.exe
If you see 'String is not localized' everywhere - fix it as described here

4) Try to make all settings lowest in graphicssettings.exe, 'Full Screen' flag and press 'Save'. Launch game. If game runs Ok - return here and set high settings.
