How to play Multiplayer

Hello, i just picked this game up and know barely anything. I wanted to start this game with my friend but we somehow can't manage to get the multiplayer running. Is that still a thing or is the multiplayer feature taken down?

Apperantly it only works with the Venice DLC, atleast now it shows the multiplayer section.

So nobody knows how to run multiplayer? :/ I tried to link steam and uplay but uplay doesnt detect anno even if i restart the uplay + says my steam key is valid xDDDD

Yo Matt, check my message above. It seems like multiplayer is only availabe with the Venice DLC, i bought it and when you launch it the multiplayer appears in the home menu.

I can confirm that you need the Venice expansion to play multiplayer.

So first of all you should create an account, then just click on the multiplayer tab and search for the button to create a match, after that your friend should be able to just join your match by invite or by searching for your room.

Could not see a button "create a match" instead ta the bottom of the multiplayer screen there is a link to a website where apprently the games are sorted from there, except it didnt work for me.

EDIT: NVM figured it out, thanks.

installing the game:
-buy the game on steam and refund it when you figure out that muliplayer only works on GOG
-go on gog create profile
-buy and install the game

where to find serial:
-you now have to find the serial-key on the gog website becase you cant in the GOG launcher
-do not start the game by clicking play. go -> more -> Anno 1404 Venice
-in the game you have to write inn the key you found on the gog website (cannot copy/paste)

Make a profile in game:
player profile -> profile manager -> create online profile
enter your ubisoft username and password
rename your character

Wait for your friends to complete this prosess
open UDP port:9103 on your firewall if your hosting the game

Create a uplay account buy the game for $4.50 download install then create an online profile it will ask for an activation key you can find that in the uplay desktop app click your username top right corner>account information>mygames>show key
