Warning! Game BACK but with DRM (Tages) ! Solution for activation problems inside!

the gold edition need a tages activation, and 1404 i cant activate!

solution:

download new tages drivers from:
http://www.tagesprotection.com/main.htm?page=5.5.htm

And check that you use the correct key for the anno 1404 maingame
It use by default the venice key *stupid*.

@ UBISOFT Both games are NOT uptodate!!

Anno 1404 = V 1.02.2619 newest should be: 1.03.3645
Venedig = V. 2.00.5008 newest should be 2.01.5010

Please give us the newest game updates !!!

You have to Download a new Tages Driver then you can activate Anno 1404:

the start engine auto filled the box with the venice activation code for me giving me the same fail message. Obvious as it is try getting the proper code from the anno 1404 page and copy/pasting that one into the box.

i recognized this but he doesnt but insert the anno 1404 serial by hand still does not activate the game - only after the tage update (for me).

Then check if you use the right cd-key for copy&paste like Klindhh said.

By default it copy the venice cd key for the main game.

Yea you were right it was putting in the wrong cd key. I put in the right one and error (6) again.Tried two more time with the correct cd-key error (6)

but now the game is patched - no tages activation required.. so you dont need any key !?

Exactly, no key needed now.
I downloaded the game yesterday for the first time (both Anno and Venice Addon) and installed them. Although there are still 2 tages files in the folder (which I deleted before starting first time install, just to test ;-)) they are NOT needed. Most certainly they forgot to remove them when they updated the game.
So : it IS the newest version for game and addon, and you NOT need a/the serial to activate the game.
And I would suggest like me deleting the tages files from the directory before starting the games first time install, just in case it gets auto started by steams first time install script ( which would be stupid cause you not need it )
All in all nice update, finally Anno 1404 is available on Steam again, first time fully updated and without additional DRM :-)

I own the amazon version of the game too, which is drm free too,
the both tages files exist here too. But no problem :)
