How do I find my serial number?

I'm trying to get a Multiplayer account set up. After making an accoun on Uplay I click multiplayer and it asks for the game's serial number, which I don't know how to get.
(I'm playing Venice)

Is it the CD-key you need? If you bought the game on Steam, go to your 'Library' then right-click on it and then it should say 'View CD-Key' or something like that. Let me know if it helped you :]

click your username in top right of the screen, go to Account information and go to My Games, all serials will be listed

Just purchased and instaalledt the game, Ubisoft Connect pops up askig for account login and then the for CD Key, but Library -> Anno 1401 -> Manage does not show anything like CD Key. Searched all formus/FAQs.. Also looked in my reciept e-mail. Unable to find it anywhere. What should I do? :-(
