well i got anno 1701. old dvd version. but why are annos like 1404 available on steam when ubisoft prefers its own platform?

Because they are barely selling anymore, why bother removing those old games then?

1800 on the other hand was pulled on its release day since it was bound to sell heaps at a high price, of which better margins were to be expected with uplay and ep*c.
