- Amelia Watson as a skin. Weird she's missing.
- Option to disable skins. I know it goes against my previous suggestion, but having the option to turn alternate skins off would be neat. Or maybe instead, just an option to choose one permanent skin for a run.
- More music (preferably Universal Music songs)? Maybe new recorded voice lines? Calli mentioned in her stream of this game that she's more than willing to help out if she's just contacted.
The Spear Hannibal is a perfect example. It has a 7 hit combo, where the third hit spins the weapon around you and the fourth hit is a long range thrust. However there's a long delay between the two attacks, so the third hit wants you to be in the middle of a fight at close range, while the fourth hit wants you to be at a distance, and there's a nearly full second pause between the two where all you can do is sit there and let enemies hit you while you are standing still unable to do anything.
It feels especially irritating because a fair number of special effects and items rely on having more than 70% HP, making them almost entirely useless with scythes and greatswords. Even without some change to make them feel less slow and sluggish, increasing their range significantly would be ideal. Both weapon types are already known for having a long range in video games, so making them have large ranges to make up for their lower attack speeds would be a good chance in my mind. Another thing that could make them feel nicer is having greater hit-stun since they are much larger weapons, enemies would be stunned for longer before they can act.
Otherwise, I think having alternate bosses for alt-floor portals would be a massive improvement over repeat fights. I spent a long time, beating the """final boss""" multiple times without ever finding the blue heart upgrade. Because both floor 1 and 2 use the same boss for both exits, I never realized I never went through floor 2's alt-portal to reach the Forest of Darkness. Seeing that there's a different boss for the alt-doors on floors 1-3 would make it a lot easier to remember
I'd also request some change regarding money. At first money was hard to come by, so I had to pick what shop items I wanted. However after getting just a few upgrades for gold drop and carrying gold between runs, and now I can regularly buy out the entire store if I wanted to.
Having some late-game gold sink would be ideal. Maybe a re-roll machine in shops or portal rooms that let you re-roll the special modifiers on your weapon for a cost that goes up with each use.
And similarly, it gets annoying when you find a strong weapon early on, and then a lot of chests become pointless, since the weapon isn't worth taking so it just sits there on the floor. Maybe having an recycle ability, destroying a weapon to get some extra souls, would make all the left-behind weapons feel less annoying.
It would also help with alt-floors. Right now, alt-floors don't feel worth going to in most cases. They are larger meaning you can get more chest drops for items and weapons, but since weapons tend to be not worth taking, that isn't really a strong advantage given their difficulty. Once you get the special upgrade from a floor, having a reason to want to return would be good.
Another small thing, but changing the way the shop keeper works if you annoy him would be nice. The Researcher asks you to stop, but does nothing if you break the glass, and other rouge-likes that let you annoy shop keepers like Enter the Gungeon punish you in much soft wayers, so annoying the shop keeper only to have your entire run reset AND be forced to start with the generic weapons, without any real indication of how extreme it is comes out of nowhere. Either having his dialog make it explicitly clear you are going to lose the run entirely, or making him less punishing like he stops selling things for the rest of the run would feel nicer.
Lastly, having more varied items would be nice. Right now, the vast majority of higher rarity items are just the same effect, but bigger numbers. There are a few special items, like auto-using potions or the cat occasionally blocking a bullet, so having some more varied items that are unique to that rarity would be nice. For example, a magic item that makes lasers bounce once, a rare item that raises the rate of ammo drops but lowers the rate of other drops for gun-heavy builds, or a normal item that makes your dodge rolls drop an ice bomb, something like those that don't have stronger/weaker effects on other rarities.
If some of these items could encourage specific builds, that would be great too. Right now, most of the items that effect specific weapons only effect melee or ranged. Having items that specifically boost machine guns, charged lasers, gloves, or spears would make it worth maybe dropping your rare weapon to use a magic weapon since it benefits from that item.
1) Using esc to close the map rather than using tab to toggle the opening and closing of map
2) Only able to use teleporter on area of the map that has it rather than using it as and when you like
Right now it feels like most boss fights consist of just tanking damage and spamming attacks until they die. Having some reward for showing that you know the boss's attacks and don't just face-tank the attacks would be a good addition I think
1. A counter or a way to view stats
(Specifically to help keep track of the number of objects destroyed, not knowing where I'm at is making me go a little crazy grinding for the Elite Destroyer & Goddeath of Destruction achievements)
2. The ability to upgrade the starting chests before a run using souls
(There doesn't appear to be another way to use the souls after getting all of the soul upgrades, so it feels like a waste to still be gathering them just to reset back to 1500 after a run ends)
2. More Mori songs, and make it play the whole song or most of the song rather than a one minuet or so loop which gets repetitive.
3. The ability to cancel melee animations with the dodge roll. Most of the time I'm just tanking in hits because I have to wait for the melee animation to be over so I can dodge roll.
4. Bonus rewards for beating a boss without taking damage. Gives more of a reason to try to mesmerize boss attack patterns, rather than just tanking in the damage and spam your melee and range weapons.
5. Playable Amelia Watson skin.
Overall great game and I would love to see these requests to be in consideration and be put into the game.
The vast majority of gold you get in a run comes from breaking objects in the environment and wasting time attacking everything in the map is not fun compared to fighting enemies.
