Just what happened to the music?
I played through the first two levels and I was convinced the music was bugged! Different parts of the tracks are overlapping and the transitions are very jarring! Particularly when engaging enemies, the music gets all messed up.

I come to the forum and to my surprise nobody else seems to be reporting the "issue", until I see another thread about the music and apparently it's working as intended? I will play some more, but at this point I'm certain the music is bugged on the client.

Yeah, noticed that myself.
Also ingame lighting sometimes bugged and flashes, this need to be patched too.

Yeah, I noticed this myself, and already reported it to DoubleEleven on Twitter. They said they're gonna ask the dev. It's good to see others report this behavior, so it's not only on my setup.

I hope the devs will look into this, it's really annoying. Sometimes you hear that another layer of music is starting to play and then gets cut out immediately. Sometimes you hear different parts of the music but they are not in sync but rather off by a couple seconds, totally out of rhythm. Sometimes there's no music at all playing even though I'm sure there was never a silent moment in the game. I doubt this is all intentional and really needs to get looked into. I never played the PS4 version, might be worth checking if it has the same problems?

I own the original PC release of Shooter, and yeah, that's definitely not an issue in that version. Not sure if it occurs in the PS4 version of Shooter Ultimate.

On a different but related note, I really wish the devs could have fixed up the stuttering the music does as it tries to swap between bits. It really hurts the experience for me when the music starts building up to a high point and then pops out for a bit to swap tracks. This is present in all versions of Shooter as far as I'm aware, and likely occurs due to the tracks being loaded in an inefficient way, but I wish it wouldn't happen.

Now that I think about it, said inefficient track-loading may have something to do with why the various layers are getting mixed up.

Hi guys, we are currently looking into this. Thank you for bringing it to our full attention.

There is no specific Track, per say, to load. Each piece of music is a separate piece that mixes together to create the soundtrack based on the Episode, Level and Zone.

Is there an ETA for the patch? I really LOVE the game but a big part of my enjoyment comes from its music but in its current state it's more distracting than enjoyable.

Are any of you still having this issue (and still care)? The last patch notes list it as a "known issue" but no word since. Wondering if anyone had a fix... thanks!

Still waiting here as well. Shame, it ruins the experience quite a lot.

Music clipping, pausing, fading away and suddenly coming back full force is quite annoying. It tries to be dynamic, but fails miserably.

Sad this has not been fixed, because the soundtrack is real good.

Yeah, they never fixed it. :(

Waited until the sale to get this, eager to continue from where I'd left off in the original. I felt a small part of me die hearing the music I so enjoyed in the original now stuttering and broken. On top of that, I keep getting crashes.

Yeah, music cut out too on my system so now and than. The original - which is still up at the store for the same price, wtf - didnt have this problem.

And two years later nothing has changed for better regarding buggy music engine used in that port... For me, because of these jarring transitions and overlapping tracks, it is literally unplayable - these issues just destroy immersion. Guys, don't leave us with that port in its current state, please!
tvmk Dec 29, 2017 @ 12:11pm
Agreed - the game is unplayable. I'd get a refund if I could.
