Why are you against uPlay? It's not as good as Steam, but there isn't anything wrong with it. You already have so many online accounts for so many other things, why do you hate the Ubisoft one?
As stated above, Uplay is required for our games, even if bought through Steam. I am sorry this has inconvenienced you, but creating an account is very simple and can be done via {連結已移除}this link.

Take example from Resident Evil Revelations 2 from Capcom, I bought the game and it is through Steam that the key is verified if correct or not on Capcon servers I suppose, no programs to install, no accounts need to be created.
Why are you trying to create difficulties to the users? WHY!!!
You didn't receive the payment may be?
As said:
- can you imagine if every company do that? Do you like to install dozens of programs and create dozens accounts?
Thanks to Steam we can avoid that, one place for everything, with ONE ACCOUNT and ONE PROGRAM for hundreds of games with every company, very easy (also easy to remember, I don't use the same account and password for everything I own, every account has its own password and account to avoid problems, or do you think I use the same account and password for everything I own so if they are discovered ALL of my accounts can be violated?).
If I need support than I contact Ubisoft not Steam of course.
Is it that hard to do that way?
A Ubisoft account is required for all Ubisoft titles. This is clearly stated on the Steam store listing for Assassin's Creed II on the right hand side. You can create a Ubisoft account via this link[account.ubisoft.com].

Obviously not true -- Assassin's Creed II from Mac App Store doesn't require users to jump trough hoops. Great game that I want to play on steam instead of Mac, crippled by shortsighted user registration process. I bought both MAS and steam versions so if I am not enthusiastic user I don't know who is.
Like my colleague mentioned above I am sorry if this has inconvenience you, however this is now a requirement to play Ubisoft games on PC and this is clearly stated in the Steam Store.
The registration process is very quick, and you won't need to sign in every time you try to play a Ubisoft title.

As many people have pointed out Steam is DRM, and we are OK with it because it does so many other things. I am not OK with most others DRM because of the constant web connect and / or it is yet another thing where I can get my identity stolen. Steam lets me play offline and at least let me know right away when they got hacked a few years ago.
Also look at gog.com / CD Projekt Red for a better way to handle DRM.
I'm loving this attitude towards the consumers that it just sucks to be us! I enjoyed Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed II so much on my Xbox that I decided to purchase the games *A SECOND TIME* to play on PC as well. But Ubisoft is now requiring me to sign up for and use their tracking software in order to play a game that I purchased??
That's a ridiculous insult to me as a consumer and Ubisoft's attitude towards the matter makes it clear that I will never again purchase another Ubisoft product! I will not be held hostage to being tracked in my game play and I'll just have to chock this purchase up to a lesson learned to not ever again trust Ubisoft or purchase their products ever gain, regardless of how good the game is!
How do I get my money refunded for this purchase?
