Yeah, it should be there
Its not there i looked everywhere.
If you have purchased a game from Ubisoft Connect, Steam, or Epic recently, we no longer supply CD keys, as the game should be pushed to your launcher straight away after purchase, or signing into your account through direct entitlement.
If the game was purchased from another retailer, please reach out to the retailer you purchase the key from or check the following guides to try and locate your game key >
Locating your Ubisoft Connect > https://support.ubisoft.com/en-gb/Article/000064222/
Locating your Steam key > https://www.ubisoft.com/en-gb/help/article/000076555
Another possible reason why you may be asked for a CD key is if you are logging in to the game with the wrong Steam, Epic, or Ubisoft account. If you have more than one of each account, please make sure you sign in to your launcher with the correct account that has been linked.
You can check if your Steam account is linked to your Ubisoft account by signing into our website > https://account.ubisoft.com/
Select Account Information > Then scroll down to Linked Accounts. Here you will find all other platforms and accounts you have linked to your Ubisoft account, including which Steam account.

your "locating steam key" help page is not helpful as it just tells me to check the "CD keys" option on steam which brings us to the initial issue
Hey Karbuster,
Just to clarify - are you being asked for a key when attempting to launch the game?
If so, could you first please try verifying the game's files[ubi.li].
If there's still no change, then could you please give the following steps a try;
Navigate to the Ubisoft Game Launcher cache folder, by default located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\cache
Open the cache folder and move the "ownership" folder to a safe location.
Once you have backed up that folder, delete the "cache" folder.
After deleting the cache folder, please verify the game files within Steam.
If an issue is found, you will be given the option to Repair, click Repair. After repairing the issue, please verify the game again until no issues are found.
When this has been completed, try launching the game again.
Please let us know how you get on with these steps.
Thank you!

yeah I've done all this and more. still not able to launch ac2... bought ac brotherhood.... worked perfectly, gave me the key, I put it in the Ubisoft launcher and it worked. yet ac2 wont launch, goes into Ubisoft with "cannot download game files" error even though its fully installed on steam. also, brotherhood didn't show up until I put the key in, whereas ac2 has automatically registered in there but will not launch. please fix this. uninstalled both the game and the Ubisoft launcher many times, multiple restarts, clearing cache, verifying game files and everything. this is not a "me problem" fix your launcher pls
