DLC after server shutdown
Will the DLC content be still available after shutdown of some older servers in June? Unfortunately, I haven't played the game yet and I'm concerned we could lose the DLCs forever

Hello!

The latest information available to me is - any unlockable content (ULC) within Ubisoft Connect will be disabled, however DLC which is downloaded & installed will still be accessible.

I hope that helps :)

Thanks for the quick answer! That's a tough one though, it's hard to say what is fully DLC, since Steam doesn't really list anything. Would a simple file backup make it work, just in case?

I'd be grateful if you confirmed the availability of these DLC missions :)

- Battle of Forli
- Bonfire of the Vanities
- Palazzo Medici
- Basilica di Santa Maria Glosaria dei Frari
- Arsenale di Venezia

Also, since the Auditore Family Crypt is tied to Uplay rewards it will probably be gone, but will it be the same for PlayStation 4 version of Assassin's Creed 2 (The Ezio Collection)?

Whoops, sorry about that, 999Pawel999 - we'll be back to you with more information on this as soon as possible - I've chased a response on these pieces of content specifically.

Hi!
I'm interested in the same information about the DLC availability after the shutdown. ^^
Thank you for your support!

Hey folks!

Just to keep you in the loop on this, I've chased this today and we are awaiting official confirmation regarding what will be available after the closure. Once we have this we'll update the thread to let you know.

However any content that has been downloaded and installed already should remain available in-game as long as you're using the same PC.

Thanks,

- Ubisoft Support

I'm also curious about the extra DLC(s) / unlockable content / Uplay rewards that will no longer function. Not only from AC2, but from every other affected Ubi game. (AC Brotherhood? Far Cry 3 ? etc.)

Is there a page with a list that displays all this information? and most importantly: Will there ever be a PROPER solution to this issue? not just a temporary workaround (the one with keeping the game files on the local PC).

Yes, I'm disappointed, obviously, to hear that some content will become unavailable. Why couldn't Ubi programmers make the automatic content unlock system available for every game (including the earlier titles) ? I'm genuinely curious. Can a support agent elucidate me? For example: AC3 (which is also an older game) is "saved", but not AC2. How so ?

By the way: Doesn't Uplay / Ubisoft Connect / launcher have support for cloud saves? Why not make it synchronize the extra content / rewards with the cloud servers? it's a missed opportunity.

P.S. Can we use other players' save files (let's say they achieved 100%, and unlocked the extra content too) in order to (re)gain access to the aforementioned content (including the "Auditore Family Crypt" reward)? or that's impossible? I hope the save files are NOT encrypted per Ubi account.

Thank you in advance.

Since the server has shutdown, seems that the ULC/DLC is no longer listed in the game's Ubisoft Connect page.

Out of the loop, what's going on here?

Hey there guys!

Following Orion's previous post, I'm afraid we're still awaiting official confirmation on what's accessible, so this has since been further chased up so we'll keep you in the loop when we hear more.

As for using other saves, in theory as long as you don't amend the game's save file path (the game will look for a folder with your User ID associated with it) however it shouldn't have an issue with the origin of the save files within in. Meaning, pasting a save into the game's current Save File folder, should allow it to then be picked up by the game.

We can pass your feedback on the implementation of the cloud function onto the team, however given the title's age and that development and now online support has concluded, I can't guarantee such as facility will now be implemented.

Thank you for your understanding guys and we'll let you know when we have more information.

Can Ubisoft at least push the DLC to every user? Or insert it into the default game? Why would you (Ubisoft) want to make content unavailable and inaccessible to current and future players?

We can certainly pass that feedback on. In regard to the decision to make the content unavailable, I am afraid that is a decision made by the game team that will not be made public sorry.

If you need anything else please let us know.

Thank you.

Would it be possible to release a remaster or a rerelease containing all of the extra content not needing to access a server, like what was done with AC3?
