Thanks. FYI to embed an individual screenshot, just paste the shared file link and it'll show, i.e. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2078692455:

Anyway.. that's strange.. Never seen that before.
Are you able to use the keyboard to select the invisible options above and below it?
Here's some things you can try anyway; mostly generic but there are a couple of AC2-specific potential solutions. I'd try them in order of listing:
This genuinely could cause the menu problem, so do make sure they are:
If you're unsure which video card you have, follow these quick instructions (for Windows only):
If the System Information application does not appear, keep entering the search term for "system information" until it appears in the search results.
If it still doesn't appear after that:
Follow the instructions on this Steam Support article.
Don't worry about deleting this, it's only config information and does not affect any save game data; it will recreate itself when the game is launched again.
PCGamingWiki[www.pcgamingwiki.com] outlines where the configuration file is:
(See here[www.pcgamingwiki.com] on how to access "%APPDATA%".)
This is to solve a separate graphics issue regarding lights shining through walls and objects in AC2, but if nothing else has worked so far, it might be worth a shot to see if it has any effect in the menu.
See this excerpt from PCGamingWiki[www.pcgamingwiki.com]:
Worth trying if none of the above works.
Additional information:
Ah, that sucks man.
Have you tried switching between fullscreen and windowed (Alt + Enter). Idk, sometimes that solves problems with games. I doubt it will with this though.
See here[www.pcgamingwiki.com] for more on switching to windowed mode.
The only other thing that comes to mind is running the program compatibility troubleshooter. Again, I doubt anything will come of it, but could see what happens.
See here[support.microsoft.com] on how to run program compatibility troubleshooter in Windows.
Hey, thank you for the update, I'm glad you could find a solution that worked for you!
Don't hesitate if we can help with anything!

Can you be specific for me what happens when you try to play AC2 offline? There are a few different reported issues here in this thread, so I'll need more information to know what troubleshooting steps to suggest.
Let me know if I can clarify this question :)
- Ubisoft Support
As mentioned by Ubi-Thrupney, there were quite a few issues discussed in this thread.
Could you please be more specific on what exactly is happening for you when you're trying to play, that way we can take a look into steps to suggest you could try out.
Thanks!
