Low fps and stutter on high end pc
im trynna play this game but its stuttering and dropping constant frames from 60 to 55-50 making it really hard to play, my PC plays new games just fine, but not this one from 2009? i have tried disabling and enabling v-sync, lowering all the graphics and limiting my CPU to only use 2 cores but nothings worked...

what do i do? if this cant be fixed then i will have to refund...

That's odd..I have high-end pc too and the two core fix works everytime.Enable shader cache and maximum power in nvidia control panel for AC 2.See if it makes any difference..Also try the two core fix again after that.
im on AMD

Since none of the solutions I've found have worked, and nobody here apparently knows how to fix it, I guess I'll have to refund this game which is a shame. So much praise for the ''best Assassin's Creed game ever'' but you can't even play it though...

I appreciate this is may be too late now, but - if you haven't read already - there's this from PCGamingWiki[www.pcgamingwiki.com] which specifies about setting the screen refresh rate to 50 Hz on top of disabling v-sync, as well as making sure that you specifically remove CPU 0 (i.e. your first CPU core) from the game process CPU affinity as this can cause issues:
  • Ingame FPS Cap workaround and CPU load fix
  • This is caused by 2 issues - a uneven 59fps fps cap and excessive cpu load when using Vsync
  1. To fix the uneven cap. Set the refresh rate to 50hz in game instead and use the Vsync as below.
  2. Use Nvidia's Adaptive Vsync in the Nvidia Control Panel or AMD's equivalent Dynamic Vsync. This minimises Vsync drops to 25fps
  3. When using VSync, excessive single core use is also evident (typically 99%) with any Quad Core CPU and above. Removing the first core of your cpu availability manually using the Task Manager affinity or alternatively using utility Process Lasso to automatically remove CPU 0 access from the AC2 executable resolves this.
The affinity fix also fixes the same issue with ACB, ACR and AC3 when using VSync.

How do you set the refresh rate to 50hz? there was no such option in the game for me

Sorry, you'd need to do that outside the game.

In theory, you can use Nvidia Control Panel[www.nvidia.com] to do this, but I have found that once I set a refresh rate change it doesn't have any actual effect; I don't know about a similar feature in the AMD Radeon Software[www.amd.com].

I would use this third-party utility called Custom Resolution Utility which has helped me out many times. Instructions below:
  1. Download Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) mentioned in this forum post here[www.monitortests.com].

    Direct download link here.[www.monitortests.com]

  2. Once downloaded, extract the zip files.

You can do this natively in Windows by right-clicking the "cru-1.4.2.zip" file, clicking Extract All..., and then clicking the Extract button. (Make sure the desired file path is entered in the above text field in the Extract Compressed (Zipped) Folders window where these options are).

  3. Open the CRU application (CRU.exe).

  4. Check that your active monitor is correctly selected in the top dropdown box.

  5. Under the Standard resolutions list field, click the respective Add... button.

  6. In the Standard Resolution window, select the Resolution dropdown box, and then choose your correct screen resolution and aspect ratio.

    Additionally, make sure:
    • that the Refresh rate text field below is set to "50".

If your screen resolution doesn't appear as a preset in the dropdown list, choose Other resolution item at the bottom of the dropdown list, and enter in your resolution and "50" Hz in the fields there.

  7. Click OK in the Standard Resolution window.

  8. Click OK in the main Custom Resolution Utility window.

  9. In the same "cru-1.4.2" directory where you launched the CRU.exe application, open the restart.exe file.

  10. Your screen should readjust to the new resolution/refresh rate profile you created in the Custom Resolution Utility.

  11. In the prompt window that appears asking if you want to revert the changes, click Exit to dismiss the window and confirm the changes.

**Bear in mind that your screen refresh rate is now set to this 50 Hz profile you created, which is now applied to your entire system and running applications.**

To revert back to your monitor's original settings, open the reset-all.exe file in the same directory.

More details and instructions available at the original forum post here.[www.monitortests.com]

System requriments say Athlon but game stuters, lags whit 24-50 fps totaly unplayable whit Uplay launcher
pc gaming wiki say aggressive mouse input acceleration, out of sync frame cap.
I gues Ubisoft dont noow haw to make quality games.

Ubisoft screwed up the logging of the game and with every action, whether it is killing an enemy, opening a territory or finding a collectible, one of the servers is contacted to report the player's action.
In this case, the lack of connection to the server does not affect the game.
So:
Open the hosts file stored in the directory with

windows\system32\drivers\etc in a text editor.

This must be done as an administrator.

At the end of the file, add the following lines:

# Assasin's Creed Lag fix
216.98.48.18 127.0.0.1
216.98.48.53 127.0.0.1
216.98.48.57 127.0.0.1
216.98.48.133 127.0.0.1
216.98.48.134 127.0.0.1

I did not need to reboot the system. But it's better to reboot. We start the game and enjoy the absence of friezes, the connection via the Internet does not occur, since our machine is a log server for Assassin's Creed.

Neither turning off VSYNC nor adding the IP addresses into the hosts file fixed it for me.

Edit: It doesn't stutter anymore. Maybe it is because I restarted my PC or I past the stuttering areas, no idea.
