Game Crashing at Startup

When I start up my game it goes to a black screen than crahse immedietly after any advice?

I think, what people are referring to is compatibility mode.
Locate the game under what is most likely "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Assassin's Creed 2", or wherever you have installed the game at.
Right click the AssassinsCreedIIGame.exe, go to properties, and to Compatibility.
Now place a tick next to the compatibility mode option and choose a previous version of Windows, in which the game has worked.

On the other hand, I don't think, it's a compatibility issue. I am using Windows 10 Pro and have no problem whatsoever.
The only problem, I encounter, is, when starting the game over Big Picture mode. (With Controller)

I sent in a icket to ubisoft and the guy said bootcamp macs are not supported if you are using a regular pc turn on compatability mode for windows 7 and run as administraor. I am sttill rying to find a soulution for boocamp macs though

Are you you sure this works? because I did a refund and I am thinking about rebuying or buying Hitman: Blood Money.
If this works, I will rebuy it.

According to just about every source on the internet this works There are a good handfull of youtube videos, forums, and even ubisoft support said to do this.

I don't want to sound overly pessimistic. But chances are, if they don't support it, it means, there is not enough people using the system to make it worth building in compatibility, because it requires much more investment on their side than they would get back. Let's say, they hire a team of 3 programmers to get this task done, with a salary of 8k$ per month and it takes them 5 months to making it run smoothly, and additionally maybe 3 months to somewhat optimize it for the system, they would require 9.6k people to buy it for this reason alone, assuming, profits are roughly 20$ per game. And since that only covers production cost, and they want to make a big profit, it becomes easily 20k to 40k people required. This all doesn't even include play testing, bug fixing, supervision and other tasks.

I know, these numbers seem pretty small compared to the global market. But in reality, apple computers are not used that much outside of America, because they offer very little in means of coverage. It makes more sense to develop the game for consoles. Because in contrast to Macs, they are actually made for gaming.

Also, communities surrounding a title tend to decrease over time. Which means the likelihood of someone from the community releasing a mod/patch to fix this problem are INCREDIBLY small.

The best course would be looking for cheap hardware and software to run it. It shouldn't be hard, finding a PC that can run this and other titles well for less than 100$.

Having said this.. Did your new laptop arrive? You said, you'd get one this month. I assume, it also doesn't work on this one? Or are you still waiting?

Just want to mention it: it did not work...
I do get a little further into the game. Like I now see the beginning of what probably is the ubisoft logo...

The same happened to me, whenever I tried to play the game with my controller, starting it in Big Picture Mode.
Though, since you didn't have any success starting it from the normal Steam overlay or from the directory (I assume, since I have posted those solutions here already)...
Could you give me a rundown of what you are doing to start up the game and what you tried? I still think, I might help.

Sure, Last time I tried I went to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Assassin's Creed 2. Then I set compativility to windows 7 and started as administrator.

I get a message asking if I want to allow the program to make changes to my device. Then it automatically opens via steam. I copy the code to clipboard and press play.

And I suppose, Uplay is installed and is updated?

Also try compatability for all the operaing system there and if that doesn't work try going into your graphics control panel and turn off antialiasing

Antialiasing shouldn't have anything to do with that.
What kind of hardware are you using?
As in Graphics card?
And what operating system?

I've read tested a lot of configs and I'couldn't make it run. I'm very disappointed. Almost 10 hours searching for solutions and no way.

Things I tried:
-Set the AssassinsCreedIIGame.exe to run as administrator
-Set the AssassinsCreedIIGame.exe to run in compatibility mode with win8 (and all combinations)
-Uninstall and deleted derectories of uplay
-Download an updated version of uplay
-Install uplay on the Assasins creed directory
-Set uplay on administrator mode
-Reinstall the game

-added the parameters to the launcher on steam game
-searched on hosts file for ubi urls

I'm very dissapointed at this moment... I'm buying a game that Steam knows it gives problems and we're not getting official help
