Assassin's Creed II Controller Fix
This should work for any controller (PS, Xbox, Generic etc...)

Head over to http://www.x360ce.com/ and download the latest version for 32-bit games, extract it and place the "x360ce" file in your Assassin's Creed/Assassin's Creed II install directory

\steamapps\common\Assassin's Creed

Launch "x360ce" as an Admin (right click), it will prompt you to create the "xinput1_3.dll" file, create it, once the UI has loaded, plug your controller in, it should automatically detect your controller and apply the correct settings, click next, click finish, check the buttons are mapped correctly, click save, close the program.

You should now be able to launch AC1 or AC2, enable the controller in the options menu and enjoy.

This should work for any version of Windows any with any Dinput or Xinput controller.

If anyone still cares, no, this will not work on Mac. Mac does not read Windows libraries (.dll files like this one).

This fix should work for all Xbox 360 controllers and will allow you to play the game with an Xbox One controller.

If you are using the official wired Xbox 360 controller you shouldn't (in theory) need these files. If you are using an Xbox One controller or 3rd party controller like the Razer Sabertooth you will need these files.

if you need those files, go to an official site and get the needed files.. not from somebody nobody knows and most likely has added some virus to bring harm to other computers ..

There are no viruses/malware in these files, you can check on VirusTotal. And what official site?

Virustotal. As you can see both files are clean.

I have updated the Google Drive link

I have tried literally everything. I have a RAZER Onza RZ06-0047 USB wired Xbox controller with the official installed Xbox controller drivers. It has worked FLAWLESSLY in EVERY game I have used it, however, AC2 does not even detect it. I have tried this solution along with about a dozen other things for the past 3 hours and AC2 STILL does not even detect the controller as an option in the controls menu. Damn glad I only wasted 5 dollars on this ♥♥♥♥

Weird, I had a Razer Sabertooth (basically a revision of the Onza) and that was originally why I needed these files. Did you install any drivers/software to do with the Xbox 360 Controller?

Do into device manager and make sure it's being recognised as a controller

No, Macs cannot read .dll files. The best option would either be A: Buy an official Microsoft wired controller or B: Use Bootcamp.

Bump. Everything seems to work fine apart from that in AC2 at least, you are constantly running in High Profile with the Xbox One controller. Holding LT is the only way to counter that, which is quite the annoyance. I've read this has been since W10 came out. Using compatability mode back to 8 or 7 did not work for me. So we pretty much need a new fix for that, anyway just so everyone knows ;)

I've run into an interesting problem. I use a Logitech F710 and had to use this x360ce configuration to play both AC1 and AC2. I finished playing AC1 and have 5 hours in AC2 but my controller is no longer being recognized. If I play without the x360ce files my controller is recognized by the triggers don't work(they are axis based and AC2 is expecting digital). Any thoughts as to what would cause this?
