Always online?

Is this game still stuck with the same always online to play issue? Or can I get it and not need an internet connection to start AND play it?

well AC1 has it... you gotta swap some files and crack the copy you bought to make it run without laggy hickups every 10 seconds... not sure about AC2

It looks as though the persistent-drm requirement has been removed.

crack the copy? so u mean i gotta pay money for the game and hack it to play offline when i can just pirate it for free? no thnx, treating legit users like sh1t while pirates get all the goodies... meh publishers these days

AC1 doesn't even have Uplay, so not sure how it's DRM'd...

You don't need to be online all the time unless you're a mac. But why are the publishers punishing us?

Unless otherwise noted, you should be able to access an offline mode after registering and updating the game. Without updating, the game may require a constant connection at all times.

Some of these games may have trouble with the UPlay launcher. Check here to make sure your game is updating properly.

Just to add, Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut Edition doesn't need Uplay account.
