Can I speed run it?
I have never played assassins creed 2 and newer ones, and i want to know, can i beat the game playing only main story missions without doing any side quests? Will it be harder or just impossible? I usually don't skip games if i want to play newer one, but these games are soooo long, and i want to know how long it will take an does it worth it. Maybe i should just watch all cut scenes on youtube? I want to play AC 4 by the way.

Play AC 4 then.
You don't need the story from AC, AC2, AC:B,AC:R, AC 3 to have fun and understand AC 4.

Yes, you can, it's about 30-40 hours without mandatory quests. If you call it a speedrun, then it's a speedrun...

yeah speedrun is still gonna take you a long time especially with the dlc integrated

bonfire of vanities has 9 assassinations alone, and thats just 1 out of 15 memories/chapters in the game

It took for me one hour to kill 9 guys in that DLC. That was my average time for some chapters.

Just finished game, steam says i spent 36 hours, 6 of which i was not playing. For this time i completed all main missions bought everything, and collected half of feathers. I have not played a single side mission except for assassin's tombs. And it was pretty fun, even DLC missions.
