One of these will work for you.
There are also at least two ASI Loader plugins that do the same thing.
2. Better textures. Use the texture TPF from https://www.moddb.com/mods/assassins-creed-ii-overhaul-mod . There are some mods partially adding textures from the Ezio Collection but nothing complete yet AFAIK - they only started appearing late last year.
You'll also need either TexMod, OpenTexMod or uMod - https://code.google.com/archive/p/texmod/downloads
There's a gotcha though: OpenTexMod clashes with ReShade and will prevent Reshade overlay UI from working.
3. Post-processing effects. Use ReShade ( https://reshade.me/ ). Some of the mods available on NexusMods have pre-configured plugin folders (else you'll have to select the packages to download - mostly the full basic set + legacy plugins will do), there are a few different presets available - this one I found okay without looking excessively cartoonish or requiring a separate preset for every damn map: https://www.nexusmods.com/assassinscreedii/mods/7 , but if you don't mind switching then the Rebirth Reshade mod might produce better effects: https://www.nexusmods.com/assassinscreedii/mods/3
If you feel like poking around, there are also some older SweetFX presets at https://sfx.thelazy.net/games/game/1717/
