Codex Page BS

I am playing AC2 for the first time in 2024, believe it or not, and the last mission being gated by collectables has completely ruined this game. I am dropping it this instant, ♥♥♥♥ backtracking.

This is a warning for anyone else like me who is just starting the series, collect all of those bloody pages or you will be gated from finishing the game.

Never heard of that one happening before, truth to be told. And I've been playing and/or replaying Assassin's Creed II (AC II) in different PC's throughout several years span and also with different Windows OS'.

And why wouldn't I collect them since they're part of the story, those extra ones provide Ezio extra HP's bar squares simply for collecting those items? And that obviously apart providing a final world map puzzle using those same Codex Pages back at the Montereggioni Villa that was shown to you by your uncle Mario really early onto the game?
I guess that you're the one trying to skip skim through the game and not I, but hey... you've made your decision, so it's up to you on how to proceed from this point onwards, definitelly not me.

You do you man, I was not saying that is the wrong way to play the game. For me an extra couple HP blocks are not enough incentive to collect all the pages. I do not play games to collect arbitrarily placed crap. I don't have the time. I did the tombs because there was a reasonable number of them and the reward was good.

Collecting 30 codex pages, 330 chests, 100 feathers, 420 flags, 60 templars, 6 assassin seals, 22 weapons, 30 art pieces. 20 armor pieces, 73 viewpoints, is too much for you?
