(PC) Dont understand the controls; How do I loot?

I am in the first scene where you have to fight these dudes, but now I need to loot them.
I can't seem to understand how I loot, I dont know how it works at all..

Tried to plug in a x-box controller but the game doesnt respond to the controller (other games do tho)

Can someone please help me?

Hold Empty Hand Button (Shift).

For future reference, you can change the input in the controls part of the settings :) you can loot using the empty hand button (left shift)

Ya go into the controls and change to your controller. I'm using an XBOX 360 controller myself, plays fine. On the XBOX controller, it's the right / red button - just stand over a corpse and hold it down and Ezio will loot.
