Assassin's Creed II

Assassin's Creed II

Start of Game Glitch. Please help.
Okay. So, I've played this game several times on my PS3 and love it! However, in the recent years I've become a PC gamer. So, I bought the game, installed it, and everything worked fine. I then start the game and everything is fine up until a certain point.

I get the scene where Lucy saves Desmond, then he get's into the animus, we see the birth of Ezio, Ezio's father comes in, then it tells me to kick, and then punch, and then punch again, and again, and again, and...well, you see my point.

The game refuses to move past this point. I'm just stuck with baby Ezio having to punch over and over again. Is there a fix for this? If not. I downloaded a save that's a bit ahead into the story. Can someone tell me where the saves are stored so that I can replace my broken one with the new one?

On a side note. I also got a Steam-Error when installing the game. However I just clicked "OK" and then continued the installing process. Which ended up finishing. Could that be the cause of my glitch? If so. What is the fix? The error stated:

An error occurred while updating Assassin's Creed II (disk write error):

f:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Steam\steamapps\downloading\33230\UplayInstaller.exe

Are you sure you pressed the right buttons? Because damn, those controls are weird. Otherwise, try verifying game files

And did you aldready have Uplay? Uplay doesnt really do anything to the gameplay, and in some games like far cry 3, its outdated.

I believe I was pressing the right buttons. Of course it just instructs me to press a foot and fist button rather than actually telling me which buttons is which.

I think I am though because Ezio does the punching motion before I'm told to do it again. I'll trying verifying the game files like you said though.

As for Uplay. I have it installed on my computer and the other AC games so I'm sure it's up to date, but I could be wrong.

What buttons are you pressing? Have you checked the controls in settings (you can press esc in the cutscene)

Woooow....I'm....I'm dumb. Turns out I kept pressing the wrong button. I looked up the controls as you suggested and then pressed the right buttons, and then boom! It's working fine now. Ugh. I hate when I make mistakes like this. Anyway. Thank you for the help and advice. It was very much needed! :)
