Anyone else having crashing issues?

Every time I boot the game, it works for like 3 seconds then crashes saying the game is not working. I tried deleting and reinstalling the game but it didn't work. Neither did restarting my pc.
Am I alone on this?

Hmm, I can have it start with -force-opengl by default. There doesn't seem to be any way for me to programmatically disable the Steam overlay...I hate to just make an announcement not to use it, but maybe I have to.

I can confirm this worked for me. As in the OP, every time I booted the game I heard the music and saw the menu screen but it crashed after 3 seconds. I have an Intel HD 4000.

Same problem here, already disabled in-game overlay and put the command line "-force-opengl" with no results. White screen, music plays for about 3 seconds then the game crashes and windows closes the application. Here´s the log file, somebody please help! The game updated like 5 minutes ago, but that didn´t solve the problem...

The 310M isn't the newest card, but I think it should be able to run the game okay. Have you tried updating your drivers? You can use Steam->Check for Video Driver Updates.

Another thing I've seen mentioned is some NVidia drivers are set to stream, which is implemented as though an NVIdia shield controller is connected, so, perhaps look at your NVidia software and see if something like that is running.

Have you tried disabling the Steam overlay?

Also might be worth going to Steam->Check for Video Driver Updates.

You can also right click on AV in steam, choose Properties, then Browse Local Files. In there is a Log folder with a logfile.txt which you can pastebin for more info (though most of these issues are GPU related and don't show up in the log)

Runs great on my Win 8.1 desktop though, but I was planning on playing this on my laptop a lot too.

EDIT: All other games I've tried on this laptop run (Quacamelee, Psychonauts, etc.) I think this is a DX9 graphics chipset, not sure if that makes a difference.

I think a DX9 chipset should be fine. I did notice on here there is a slightly higher driver number (8.15.10.2869 vs your 8.15.10.2086)

I'm suspicious of how the last thing in the log is the Steam Achievement callback; I'm gonna see if I can't get a newer version of Steamworks.Net up and running.

Getting this in the log when I try to run AV, doesn't quit unless I end the process. Nothing comes up graphically, no sounds either. Force OpenGL has not seemed to have an effect. Steam Overlay is off, running game as Admin.

MacBook Pro, 2.66 i7, 330M GT graphics, Win 7.

It appears to be hanging right at the start.

I'm about to update some of the included dlls, as well as add some more logging.

Do you have OSX installed on that machine as well, and does it work there?

Getting same result with that driver (had to use the Device Manager backdoor to get it installed, since Intel wants you to install directly from your manufacturer, and HP's latest was 2086)
