Co op FPS 30 fps cap, tried fixes nothing works

I tried changing the max fps in the convictionuser.ini and convictionuserpc.ini to 120.

But nothing seems to work in removing the fps cap in coop. Its still capped at 30 fps. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Last time I dabbled in this territory my research revealed that it's hardcoded and is directly related to how the multiplayer network code works with syncronizing you and your partner.

It's been a long time since I've looked into it, and so I would take that with a grain of salt. Having said all that, games like The Force Unleashed were unofficially patched with hacked executables that circumvented the 30fps cap allowing it to got to 61. I wonder if the same could be done with Conviction. Then again, I'd be worried that there would be problems with syncronization.

This is really sad state of affairs when devs have to cap fps because of thier own flawed game technology and design. I mean really.

Wait i played co-op never relized the game was capped at 30 fps? Are u serious? But only in co-op right? Cause I get over 95 fps in single player every setting maxed.

Just online play, when you're connected with another player.

I just check out the pcgamingwiki page which says "Frame rate was capped at 30 FPS in old co-op mode.[1]" and the [1] is linked to this thread. So did i miss something? Is there some kind of a "new" co-op mode without the frame cap?

Old/new, it's all the same. There is only one co-op mode. The cap is in online co-op mode only. Probably just a method the developers used to ensure good synchronization between players.
